We’re proud to announce the successful sale of the Tungkillo Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) development project to Iberdrola Australia; a major milestone in our mission to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon energy future. Located in South Australia’s Mid Murray Council area, the Tungkillo BESS is a 270 MW, 1,080 MWh utility-scale project designed to provide critical grid support and flexibility, enabling more renewable energy to power Australian homes and businesses.   This achievement reflects RES’ commitment to value creation, robust community engagement, and streamlined project delivery. Throughout development, we worked closely with local stakeholders—including the Traditional Owners, landowners, and councils—to ensure the project delivers long-term benefits and reflects community values.   We’re grateful for our ongoing partnership with Iberdrola, whose proposed €275 million investment in Tungkillo is part of a broader €1 billion commitment to battery storage in Australia by 2028. We advised Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. (KEPCO) on its majority investment in Simply Blue Energy (OSW) Limited, an offshore wind development company headquartered in Cork, Ireland. The transaction is KEPCO’s first investment in an offshore wind developer and forms part of its expansion in renewable energy under the Kansai Electric Power Group Zero Carbon Vision 2050. The Sola Group has announced that commercial operations have begun at its Springbok Solar Power Project in the Free State. The multi-buyer, flexible energy wheeling facility has Amazon as its anchor buyer. Latvenergo expands Lithuania’s largest wind project with advanced energy storage ⚡ Latvenergo AS is advancing the construction of its largest Lithuanian wind farm in Telšiai, with a total capacity of 124 MW, now enhanced by a 28.51 MW / 57.02 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The site, equipped with Vestas turbines, is set to be fully energised by Q1 2026, supplying green energy to over 125,000 households annually. Following our assistance in Latvenergo’s acquisition of the Telšiai wind park earlier this year, our Energy team has once again contributed to the company’s renewable energy expansion – this time advising on the Development Services Agreement for the BESS project, including regulatory and state support matters. Under the contract, approximately 65,000 MWh of green electricity will be supplied to the Legnica Copper Smelter, one of KGHM’s most important production facilities. This milestone shows that renewable energy can reliably support even energy-intensive industrial processes. By combining cost predictability with operational stability, the agreement helps KGHM manage energy market volatility while advancing its climate commitments. At the same time, it reinforces ENGIE’s role as a key partner in Poland’s energy transition, supporting the development of renewable energy and long-term energy security. Port of Amsterdam buys Blue Port Center in Den Helder, the former Fish Auction. Electricity company RWE, SSE Renewables, and TotalEnergies will establish themselves here. The Blue Port Centre will serve as the base for the management and maintenance of offshore wind farms in the North Sea, such as the Hollandse Kust West wind farm. The weekly fish market behind the building will disappear as a result of the acquisition.

Great to see this Neoen Australia and BHP relationship flourish with a second agreement to further decarbonise South Australian industry. We committed to financing Goyder South Stage 1 Wind Farm and Blyth Battery last year.
