Where’s the bounce back for paper packaging? After the Covid boom years, demand for paper packaging has struggled to recover. 2024 brought only modest growth (+2.1% corrugated, +0.7% folding cartons), far below pandemic peaks – and halfway through 2025, the bounce back many expected still hasn’t arrived. At NOA, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’ve identified a perfect storm of factors holding the sector back: rising costs, regulatory pressure, retailer price squeezes, geopolitical uncertainty, and competition from lower-cost suppliers. But there are reasons for optimism. The shift of private labels toward paper packaging, coupled with stronger recycling systems and consumer sustainability demands, could fuel the eventual recovery. One thing’s certain: we’re still on the roller-coaster. When we started working on making the packaging of a camera completely plastic free, the biggest challenge wasn’t the box, it was what goes inside. Replacing bubble wrap sounds simple, but it’s one of the hardest steps in eliminating plastic. It’s light, flexible, and guarantees perfect protection. Most paper-based fillers slow down production, increase weight, or don’t meet the same performance standards during transport. We had to rethink not just the material, but the entire packaging logic: how the product is positioned, fixed, and cushioned, without modifying the existing packing line. In our latest project video, we show how we achieved a 100% plastic free camera packaging that performs just like plastic — with the same protection, speed, and efficiency. Watch the full solution in the video below. What’s stopping your company from taking the same step? #ecopackaging #packaging #packagingdesign #sustainability #plasticfree

Labeling or banding, does it really make a difference? Spoiler: Yes, especially when you look at how they’re applied. Where traditional adhesive labeling depends on sticky layers, liners, and waste… Banding takes a completely different approach. - No liner - No adhesives - Just one step that seals, labels and brands When the application process changes, so do your material use, recyclability, and overall packaging efficiency. This is how the difference plays out in real-world operations. 👉https://lnkd.in/exQ8ih2T Make a difference. Go banding. #GoBanding #PackagingInnovation #SmartLabeling #LinerlessSolutions #SustainablePackaging #BandingWorks #LessWasteMoreImpact #PrintAndBand #PackagingEfficiency #FutureProofPackaging
