What's the most creative way you've seen students work around a system at school? Reckon this one's hard to beat shared with us by David Moon via Sultan School District # 311! "The first year of using PaperCut MF, our middle school students realized that they could use the transfer balance option in PaperCut as a chat app, so they were sending a few cents back and forth to communicate with each other. We eventually took that ability away, but was a reminder how incredibly creative middle school students can be." 😊

9hA long time ago can’t remember whether we had papercut ng or mf at the time, students had found a way to authenticate themselves using special characters which utilised the new user template of crediting them £5. They then proceeded to transfer the balance on to their own account. Some repeated this process transferring £1000s of credit. We only began to notice when I logged on to the admin console and received the warning of oversubscribed users again my license. This was effectively fraud and Students were given a workshop involving the police explaining the difference between exploiting and reporting a software weakness.
