Remembering the Past, Shaping a Peaceful Future Born from the aftermath of World War I, November 11—Remembrance Day—marks a pivotal moment in history: a collective promise to honor those who suffered and sacrificed and to work toward a world without war. Today, we pause to remember the profound cost of conflict and to honor the resilience of those who came before us, envisioning a world free from the scars of war. Remembrance Day serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made, the lives forever altered, and the urgent call to end all wars so that future generations may live in peace. In a world where conflicts still rage, our remembrance must move beyond reflection. Together, we must renew our commitment to building a world where peace is not a distant hope but a shared reality. It is a call to action: to end all wars and to build a future grounded in peace, justice, and compassion. #RemembranceDay #EndAllWars #Peace

War is a mindless pursuit for territorial gain; when will we learn to be honest and true? Each conflict leaves scars on the land and the hearts of those who survive. Instead of seeking power through violence, could we not strive for understanding and compassion? The ideals of cooperation and peace hold the potential to unite us, transcending borders and differences. It is essential to recognize that every life lost in battle represents a story cut short, a future unfulfilled. In our quest for dominance, we often overlook the strength found in unity. Dialogue, empathy, and respect can pave the way for a brighter future, where disputes are resolved not through weapons, but through words. The lessons of history remind us that peace is not merely the absence of war; it is a proactive commitment to fostering relationships built on trust and mutual respect. As we reflect on the cost of conflict, let us envision a world where our shared humanity takes precedence over the desire for power. Only then can we hope to create a legacy that future generations can be proud of—one defined by harmony, understanding, and a collective effort to build a better world for all.

“Every war begins with the pursuit of peace, and every war must end with peace. Our world yearns for understanding, not conflict. On this World Peace Day, let us reflect on the futility of violence and the boundless power of unity. – Shavaz Baloch, Visionary & Advocate for Global Harmony As we celebrate World Peace Day, let us renew our commitment to building bridges instead of walls. True peace is not the absence of war, but the presence of justice, equality, and compassion. In a world rife with division, let us recognize that our greatest strength lies in our shared humanity. Together, we can transform conflicts into dialogues, and differences into diversity. Let today be a reminder: peace is not just a destination, but a journey we must all walk together. #WorldPeaceDay #PeaceThroughUnity #GlobalHarmony #EndConflict #ShavazBaloch #TogetherForPeace”

**Title: "Victory in the Silence of Peace"** To win the war, let peace in motion bind, And calm the storm that rages in the mind. Apply the art of stillness to the fray, So opposition finds its gentler way. With brilliance foresight in the peace we seek, We turn the tides and change the mindsets weak. When conflict fades beneath the calm of grace, The path to peace is marked by love’s embrace. No more the clash of arms, the call to fight, But unity in dawn’s emerging light. By raising peace where battles once did roar, We find the way to end the endless war. In quiet strength and wisdom’s gentle hand, The wars of old give way to a new land. With foresight clear and mindset turned to peace, In silence, wars are won, and troubles cease. Courtesy to Priya Waller Media and Communications Experts UK 🇬🇧

Today, on #Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifices, and resilience of those who have served and lost their lives in times of war. The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marks the moment when the First World War ended in 1918—a point in history that symbolized the #hope for #peace after one of humanity's darkest periods. As we look back, we also recognize the echoes of that war, the lives shattered, the sacrifices made, and the lesson that war brings immense pain to all involved. And yet, in a world where conflicts still rage in many places, we are reminded that peace is not a static achievement; it requires continuous dedication. Today is not only about remembering but also about reflecting on our role in building a future where such suffering is no longer necessary. Every individual, community, and nation has a part in this responsibility. By fostering understanding, prioritizing diplomacy, and protecting #human rights, we can work to prevent the misunderstandings, #inequities, and prejudices that lead to conflict. Let us honor those who came before us by dedicating ourselves to a future built on compassion, cooperation, and enduring peace. Picture: "Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red" by artist Paul Cummins, made up of 888,246 ceramic poppies filled the moat of the Tower of London in 2014 Lost in earth and air or sea, Those bodies now a memory, They gave their lives for you and me, Those deaths horrific, souls now free. No matter what your thoughts of war, The loss of life you can't ignore, Those people then knew so much more, They fought to keep things as before. So spare a minute, yes this day. To think of those now gone away. They gave up all for your today. They didn’t reach those days of grey. - Karl Tearney

Peace is more than just the absence of conflict; it’s the presence of harmony, justice, and well-being in a society. It involves the ability to resolve differences through dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding. On a personal level, peace is often found in inner calmness, mindfulness, and contentment, even in the midst of external challenges. Globally, peace is the result of collective efforts to reduce inequality, protect human rights, and ensure that all individuals have access to opportunities that promote dignity and growth. Peace thrives where compassion and cooperation replace division and hostility.
Saturday’s Peace Day represents the core aspirations of the United Nations – the pursuit of peace & a world free of violence and strife. This year’s theme focuses on cultivating a culture of peace reminding us all that peace is not merely the absence of conflict, it is also the prevention of conflict. Yet, as we celebrate this important day, many people worldwide continue suffering from conflicts. War is never the answer. We need peace.

The wars need to be halted, peace need to be established such that there can be a return to internationally recognised agreements; borders, human rights and safety for all peoples. Then we need to re-start building schools and hospitals and roads and sanitation and so forth. We cannot do that when there is war. Peace must be established in service of those other main goals - there is no path to peace, peace is the path. https://lnkd.in/ez2P6Uaj

Honoring the armistice, especially in today’s climate, feels both timely and essential. It symbolizes the possibility of peace after devastation, the hard-won acknowledgment that human life and dignity should be cherished above conquest or division. It’s an invitation to remember the consequences of unchecked nationalism, intolerance, and dehumanization. Reflecting on the armistice today isn’t just about looking back with reverence but about asking ourselves what we are willing to do to protect the freedoms and dignity of all beings. Peace is fragile, silence in the face of injustice has real consequences, and each generation has a role in preventing the horrors of the past from recurring. In a world where hate still finds a foothold, honoring the armistice is a stance against division, a pledge to uphold humanity’s shared values, and a tribute to the courage it takes to seek unity over conflict. Here is a text I wrote about today's Armistice. https://lnkd.in/gGq2gGTP
