More than 200 submarine cables start of land in Europe, great to see that since years the #EU takes the issues very seriously. Like the actions to strengthen the security and resilience of submarine cables (https://lnkd.in/eGDGV-Qv) We win every time Team Europe plays offensive.

On our way to securing Europe’s connectivity!   Visiting Riga, Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen announced new funding and progress made in strengthening Europe’s critical submarine cable infrastructures with a key report under the EU Action Plan on Cable Security.   The EVP said: “These new EU funding opportunities will help us strengthen the resilience of Europe’s submarine cable networks – our digital lifelines”.   With €20 million under the Digital Europe Programme, the new funding will support the creation of Regional Cable Hubs and stress-testing the resilience of undersea cable infrastructures.   The report presented today maps existing and planned infrastructures, assesses risks, and sets stress-testing guidelines. It’s a major deliverable of the Cable Security Action Plan, presented in February 2025.   Learn more how the EU boosts resilience & security of undersea cables: https://lnkd.in/eM4fpj_U
