Turning raw data into actionable insights.
Hours of filtering spreadsheets, cross-referencing data, building pivot tables... and that's assuming the data was clean to begin with. There had to be a better way.
So I built one.
Last week, I finished building an AI-powered chat tool that lets anyone analyze inventory data just by talking to it. No formulas. No queries. Just conversation.
Here's the story:
I started with a simple problem: our inventory data lived in Airtable, but getting insights meant either being a spreadsheet wizard or waiting for someone who was. I thought, "What if we could just ask questions like we're talking to a colleague?"
That's when I connected the dot, AI agents, and automated workflows could change everything.
I integrated Google Gemini as the brain, set up Airtable as the data backbone, and built a conversational flow that actually understands context. Now, instead of saying "filter column B where values exceed threshold and group by category," you can say "show me which products are running low." Easy peasy.
The moment it clicked:
The first time I typed "hi" and watched the entire workflow spring to life, chat trigger, AI agent, data retrieval, analysis. I knew this was bigger than just a technical win. This was about democratizing data.
What changed:
That report that took hours? Now it takes seconds. The insights that required technical expertise? Now anyone on the team can access them. The data sitting idle in spreadsheets? Now it's a conversation partner.
But here's what I really learned:
Technology should adapt to how humans naturally communicate, not the other way around. We shouldn't need to learn the language of machines when machines can learn ours.
What I found most exciting was how quickly structured workflows could replace spreadsheets and manual tracking - making analysis faster, cleaner, and more reliable.
What's a repetitive task in your workflow that you wish you could just "talk away"? Drop it in the comments, I'm curious what problems are keeping us all busy.
