Professors: From Info-Dispensers to Soul-Igniters When I reflect on the role of a professor in a higher education institution, one image haunts me — of a lone torchbearer standing in front of a dark cavern, offering light not by dumping buckets of knowledge but by kindling curiosity, guiding steps, and walking alongside learners. We are not mere informers— we are sculptors of minds, nurturers of dreams, champions of change. A lecture is not completed when facts are transmitted; it begins when a student’s eyes light up with possibility. In the age of NEP 2020, technology, and research, our responsibility is deeper, sharper, heavier. NEP 2020 encourages flexibility, multidisciplinary learning, multiple entry–exit options, and no rigid silos between arts and sciences. One of its ambitious goals: raise the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education from ~26 % (2018) to 50 % by 2035. The policy sets up the National Research Foundation (NRF) to nurture a vibrant research culture across disciplines. Institutional autonomy, outcome-based education, and integration of technology are among the key pillars for transforming how we teach and how students learn. But policies alone don’t transform minds. That alchemy happens in classrooms, labs, and dialogues — where you, the professor, are the catalyst. 💡 Why Technology & Research Must Anchor Our Teaching Personalized, Active, Inquiry-Led Learning Adapting Technology lectures into adaptive content, flipped classrooms, simulations, and interactive assessments. Research as Lifeblood, every educator is expected to be a researcher — a research-aware teacher. When you integrate small-scale classroom research, publish your observations, collaborate across disciplines — you become a living model of curiosity for students. ❤️ Teaching not for exams, but for life. Stories over slides, dialogue over monologue, exploration over rote memorization. Let us simplify without condescension, probe without intimidation, and stretch without breaking. Let us see a quiet student, a struggling student, a skeptical student — not as “hard cases” but as our collective calling. NEP 2020 major features: flexible curricula, no strict subject boundaries, promotion of research, institutional autonomy, integration of technology. #HigherEd #TeachingExcellence #NEP2020 #EdTech #AcademicLeadership #ResearchDriven #FacultyDevelopment #InnovationInTeaching #TransformativeEducation #TeachingFraternity

When live engagement becomes part of the lesson, not just an add-on, the results are remarkable. From a recent survey of higher-ed educators using Kahoot! live engagement tools: 🎯 100% reported higher student engagement. 💬 75% saw stronger understanding and recall of course content. ⚡ Educators said classes felt more energetic, participation increased across the board, and even quieter students became involved. It’s a powerful reminder that engagement isn’t just about fun, it’s about creating the conditions where active learning and recall can flourish. #HigherEducation #TeachingAndLearning #EdTech #EducationLeadership #StudentEngagement #LearningScience #DigitalLearning #KahootEDU #TAFE #VET #University

Fascinating observation from the frontlines of education transformation: While 73% of teachers report spending 8+ hours weekly on grading, the real cost isn't just time - it's the missed opportunities for meaningful student interaction and innovative lesson planning. This isn't just about efficiency. It's about reclaiming the essence of teaching. What if we could redirect those hours into what truly matters: inspiring young minds and crafting transformative learning experiences? #EdTech #AIInEducation #Schools

📌 Rethinking How We Measure Learning 🤔 The real challenge in higher education today isn’t content delivery but it’s ensuring that learning outcomes truly reflect capability. I’ve seen firsthand how small process innovations from AI-supported assessments to inclusive evaluation rubrics can completely transform learner engagement and academic integrity. When assessment moves from testing memory to measuring mastery, it unlocks what education is meant to do develop thinkers, not test-takers. The most future-ready classrooms are not defined by technology, but by how meaningfully they measure learning. How can we redesign assessments to capture thinking, creativity, and growth not just performance? #EdTech #HigherEducation #LearningInnovation#AssessmentDesign #AcademicOperations #21stCenturySkills #LeadershipInEducation

1EdTech Consortium’s learning standards database ensures that Knowledge Graph integrates the latest standards from all 50 states in four core subjects: English, math, science, and social studies. “1EdTech seeks partners across the ecosystem who can deploy community-developed standards in innovative and high-value ways. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Learning Commons exemplifies this collaboration by leveraging multiple 1EdTech standards, including CASE, to build public infrastructure for K–12 education. We’re proud to see our standards reducing complexity, expanding innovation, and, through partners like Learning Commons, positively impacting teaching and learning by making these solutions more accessible to both edtech providers and educational institutions.“ –Curtiss Barnes, CEO

Cracking the Code of Scale in Education Leap Learning´s methodology didn’t start as a theory. It grew from real classrooms, real learners, and real limits. That’s why it rests on three essential pillars: Start with knowing the real reality on the ground. If it doesn’t work in low-resource settings, it won’t scale anywhere. Understanding what it truly takes to learn.Students need to discover how to learn — to question, explore, and keep learning for life. Use the potential of technology. With real expertise, technology can be harnessed to build scalable solutions that work on the ground and actively support hands-on learning. Simple, but not easy. This is what I’ll be taking to the mEducation Alliance — build for scale and ready to scale, an approach tested across 20+ countries, - now looking for the right partners. Because small ideas can create global change. An invitation to build scalable impact together. #MarvelousEdSymposium #LeapLearning #EducationInnovation #GlobalEducation #PartnershipsForScale
