“It was an emotional moment. There were many of us there to see that Ducati [motorcycle] powered by our QSE 5 cells...When we started out, it wasn’t clear if a material existed – if that material could be made thin and continue to function, [if it] could be made larger [or] multi-layered, [if it] could be made continuously with no applied pressure, with no excess lithium…All of these things were generally thought to be at least difficult, if not outright impossible, and it took going through all of those things to get here. There’s still a lot of important work to do. But nonetheless, to power a vehicle in the very bright spotlight of the Munich Auto Show was a very proud moment, and it also really embodied the wonderful partnership we’ve developed with the Volkswagen Group.” Kevin Hettrich shares his thoughts on QuantumScape’s recent milestone at IAA Mobility on the OPTO Sessions podcast, diving into future milestones and next steps for the company. Very interesting interview and brighter future knowing that such bettery technology is even easier to recycle!!
Not only EV, I’m awaiting the power banks be replaced with QS cells as well, be quick guys.
That is so awesome! Congratulations, QuantumScape Team!
I have been a retail investor in QS for more than a few years and been following the cell developments just as long. It is encouraging to see such concrete results in what I would view as break-neck speed, many compliments to both your governance, engineering and all supporting staff as well—I am sure you it has been a rough ride. Wishing the company an increasingly smooth ride toward future mobility developments!
I’ve been an investor since the beginning, exciting to see things fall into place from the vision that was set years ago. Looking forward to what’s to come!
Your leadership in metasurface optics and commercialization of polarization sensors represents a major step forward in applied photonics. At NanoZeolite Holding, we share the same mission: bridging quantum-scale materials and mass-market optical technologies. Our ongoing development of Scroll Graphene ND and the Nanolaser for Atomic Cavities is redefining how light and matter interact at the sub-nanometer scale — enabling confined photonic states, extreme precision, and intelligent energy conversion inside quantum architectures. Metasurface innovation and quantum-graphene photonics together open a new era of compact, efficient, and intelligent optical processors for everything from sensing to AI acceleration. 🔹 Pioneering the frontier where metasurfaces meet quantum matter. 🔹 Building the next generation of photonic intelligence. #Metalenz #Photonics #QuantumMaterials #OpticalDesign #ScrollGrapheneND #Nanolaser #MetasurfaceOptics #Innovation #QuantumEngineering
This is awesome Kevin Hettrich. The vision coming to life. Let’s keep it going!
Incredible milestone turning years of 'impossible' challenges into a working demonstration, this kind of breakthrough in solid-state battery technology could fundamentally reshape the EV landscape if it scales successfully.
