When #HR leads the conversation on #TotalRewards with strategic vision, employee retention and satisfaction increases. While this Forbes article is a year old, the message is relevant today and for forward thinkers. In May of 2024, more than 51% of employees polled by #Gallup were actively searching for new jobs, indicating the level of unsatisfaction with their Total Rewards. What can and should HR be doing to slow this trend of #quietquitting and retain top talent? Is HR being heard in the boardroom? Further this same poll found that 93% of respondents firmly believe that #wellbeing is now as important as their #salary. So, what does employee wellbeing mean? What can HR do to turn the tides and focus on these benefits? The discussion continues surrounding #remote and #hybrid work, but with company pushes to return to office, how should HR be managing this process. The goal must be to ensure collaborative in-office days; however, this is harder to do than you might think. Recently, I scheduled collaborative on-site working days for my own team, and due to others calendar changes the entire on-site experience is now nullified for the remote workers making the effort to be on-site. We must find ways to prioritize the days that remote and hybrid workers will spend in-office and ensure those prioritized on-site days remain untouched by the ever-changing expectations of others. How can HR support these efforts, they may not even be in the know at the employee level. It's up to all of #Leadership to consider the benefits and costs and work together to ensure success for all involved. A mantra I am reminded of at this moment is just to #BeBetter. Let's keep the conversation going! If you are interested in offering #solutions for how leadership and HR can partner to ensure in-office days are #collaborative and #intentional, I'm open to hearing all suggestions, as I would love to improve this part of employee wellbeing in my team, and for others. This discussion is part of a Total Rewards discussion with Emily Douglas-McNab in the #MasterofHumanResourceManagement Program at the #FisherCollegeofBusiness at THE Ohio State University. https://lnkd.in/gzANq5ex

One of the things I’m passionate about is healthy cultures. Whether they be in relationships or at work. It’s true that in the past sickness and attrition rates were a good benchmark for testing employee engagement. However with so many other diagnostics and greater awarenesss at our fingertips- are these measures outdated? So, if we want to talk about a “healthy workforce” today, we need to shift the focus away from outputs like attendance or retention, and towards inputs like behaviour and habit change. Since hybrid working came in sickness levels in business have fallen. Attrition can be a measure of unhappiness but it can also be aligned to lack of external opportunity. No one jumps ship when the job market is poor. Would love your views on this blog I’ve written. #sickness #attrition #hr #workplaceculture #workplacewellbeing https://lnkd.in/eVYWyC5C

🔍 The Retention Mirage: Perks Won’t Keep People if Culture Doesn’t Giving free snacks, gym memberships, or flashy lounges is nice - but it doesn’t guarantee that employees will stay and thrive. When the underlying issues like lack of purpose, weak leadership, or mismatched values - go unaddressed, you end up with “quiet stayers” who show up but disengage. The real work? Building culture, clarity, connection, and meaningful growth. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/ghaP8nBb #EmployeeRetention #Retention #WorkplaceCulture #HR #HRStrategy #EmployeeExperience #AmazingWorkplaces #LetsCreateAmazingWorkplaces #9PillarFramework #9PillarFrameworkofAmazingWorkplaces #workplace #surveyandcertification #certification #employeesurvey #pulsesurvey #employerbrand #employerbranding #culture #leadership #awards #HR #HumanResource #HumanResources #employeesatisfaction #DiverityEquityInclusion #Diversity #Inclusion #BestPractices #Learninganddevelopment #employeegrowth

It’s National Worklife Week, observed annually to encourage businesses and employees to keep conversations going around the importance of employee wellbeing and work-life balance. In Lesley Cooper’s article on Workplace Wellbeing Professional, she explores the right to disconnect law and the benefits its introduction would have on our overall wellbeing and productivity. “It is time for businesses to recognise that clear boundaries between work and wider life not only boost individual performance at work but also contribute directly to employee and business performance sustainability,” says Lesley. Read more in the article below. Do you believe the right to disconnect should be mandated by law in the UK? https://lnkd.in/gckPexHe
