🏃♀️➡️ 100+ European cities are racing toward climate neutrality — now, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Helmond are the latest to be recognized for their leadership. 📍In Rotterdam, years of shared ownership are shaping a new model of climate governance. With over 100+ companies and 1,000+ residents who helped develop the city’s 2019 Climate Agreement, Rotterdam is driving deep emission cuts and creating fairer, more circular pathways to climate neutrality. 📍Eindhoven and Helmond are driving a joint approach to circular and just urban transitions, promoting fair energy systems, accessible funding for low-income households and youth participation through digital tools. For these transformative efforts, the European Commission awarded them the Mission Label⚡, recognizing the strength of their Climate City Contracts and supporting access to public and private funding to accelerate decarbonization. With this milestone, the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities has now exceeded its goal of supporting 100 cities by 2030, awarding the Mission Label to 103 cities across Europe. Together, we're one step closer to a climate-neutral Europe.
