"Imaging in Breast Implants: A Key to Better Outcomes"

View profile for RICHA JAIN

Consultant Radiologist

Breast augmentation procedures are rapidly increasing — both for cosmetic enhancement and as reconstructive surgery post-mastectomy in breast cancer patients. Breast implants play a central role in these interventions. Imaging plays a crucial role in the assessment of breast implants, helping differentiate normal post-surgical appearances from complications such as intra- or extracapsular rupture, implant displacement, or infection. Early and accurate diagnosis through imaging can significantly influence the treatment pathway and assist cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons in decision-making. I had the privilege of delivering a talk on “Imaging in Breast Implants”, where I discussed the importance of choosing the right imaging modality, with MRI being the gold standard for evaluating implant integrity and detecting silent ruptures and other complications. It was a great opportunity to share insights and contribute to improving outcomes in both aesthetic and oncologic breast surgery. #BreastImaging #BreastImplants #MedicalImaging #Radiology #MRI #BreastCancerAwareness #PlasticSurgery #ReconstructiveSurgery #AestheticMedicine #BreastAugmentation #WomenInMedicine #HealthcareInnovation #Oncology #MedicalEducation
