ChatGPT, the superapp, intends to replace Google as a portal to all businesses in the world. And to collect tolls, of course. "Developers can access the SDK for making apps in preview starting today. Later this year, developers will be able to submit apps for review and publication, and OpenAI also plans to offer a directory for users to browse apps. The company will share guidance about monetization soon, including support for the new Agentic Commerce Protocol, an open standard that enables instant checkout in ChatGPT" https://lnkd.in/gG5Kb-r3

A new feature of ChatGPT that enables you to consume the services of dedicated websites or a dedicated webservice through a mobile app without using the actual website or app, but just talking or typing prompts into ChatGPT. This is what will take the GenAI evolution to the next level. Hope to see more consumer devices (such as newer versions of Alexa?) and AI Integration services enabled by such capabilities soon https://lnkd.in/e9PNzqmG

The new ChatGPT App Store feels like a quiet, but potentially big, shift for digital experiences — including in government. With the App Store, anyone can create specialized “mini apps” directly within ChatGPT — and that could change how people interact with public services. The first wave of this shift has been felt in consumer search - Google's search traffic market share has dipped to its lowest level in a decade, with LLM usage rapidly increasing and consumers reporting using them to replace previous search habits. The next wave may be more pivotal. As sites and apps integrate with LLMs, the line between them may start to blur. Imagine being able to talk to a personalized government assistant within ChatGPT or Gemini that actually understands your context — guiding you through awareness building, eligibility, forms, or life events seamlessly, all within 1 contact point. It points to a future beyond static portals — where services come to you, through intelligent, conversational experiences. Of course, it raises big questions about trust, transparency, and accessibility that cannot be overlooked. This is likely something government digital teams should keep an eye on. If other major LLMs follow suit, this could mark a key shift in the design of experiences. The next generation of public experiences might not live independently on a website, a portal or on an app store… but inside ChatGPT. Gen Z never wanted to download your app anyway. 📱 They've been living in conversations — TikTok comments, Discord threads, iMessage groups. Now ChatGPT is betting the future of software lives there too. 💬 Here's what just changed: OpenAI turned ChatGPT into an app platform where you don't download anything. You just… talk. Need a flight to Austin? Say it. Want to browse homes in Portland? Ask. The app appears in your conversation, does its thing, and disappears. No app store. No home screen. No "please rate us 5 stars." ⭐. Just vibes and results. ✨ This isn't another marketplace — it's OpenAI replacing the entire concept of app discovery with something Gen Z already understands: context-aware conversations that anticipate what you need. And here's the kicker for builders 👇 ✨ They're giving you a no-code builder (AgentKit) to create production-ready agents 🔗 They're letting you embed those agents anywhere with ChatKit 🌐 They're opening an SDK built on open standards (MCP) 💬 They're bringing apps TO users in conversation, not making users hunt for apps The shift isn't just technical — it's philosophical. 🧠 Apps used to compete for home screen real estate. Now they're competing for relevance in the moment. The question isn't "will users download this?" but "will ChatGPT suggest this when it matters?" Three things I'm watching: 🔍 🔍 Discovery economics — When Spotify and Zillow are launch partners, how does a solo developer get noticed? OpenAI says they'll "proactively suggest" apps, but that's where power (and revenue) will concentrate. 🚀 The no-code unlock — If you can build and deploy agents without engineering resources, we're about to see an explosion of niche use cases. The long tail of AI apps could be massive. 🎯 Trust vs. iteration — Developers got burned with GPTs. This needs to be more than an experiment. OpenAI has to prove this is infrastructure, not a feature. ⚠️ The early winners in any platform are the ones who show up first and understand the new rules. The rules here? Conversational UX, contextual relevance, and invisible integration. 🎯 We're not just watching another product launch. We're watching the formation of a new software distribution model. 🌊 I wrote about why this matters and what it means for developers, founders, and anyone building in AI 👇 https://lnkd.in/gaXuUcxP What do you think? Is this the platform shift we've been waiting for, or just another marketplace that'll fade? 💭 #artificialintelligence #chatgpt #ai #nocode #softwaredevelopment #openai #productmanagement #startups #techinnovation #futureofwork #workforce #economic #distribution #openai #agents #sdk #ai #widget #conversation #ui #ux

Is ChatGPT changing how users find and engage with apps? With the rollout of the Apps SDK and Instant Checkout, OpenAI is turning ChatGPT into a new kind of operating system for apps. Here’s what’s happening: OpenAI’s Apps SDK allows third-party services to build “apps” within ChatGPT. In practice, this means: 👉 Users can ask ChatGPT to book a flight, order groceries, or translate a document. 👉 ChatGPT then decides which app to route the request to. 👉 The transaction, booking, or task happens inside ChatGPT and not in a separate app interface. Apps are no longer just browsed in stores-they’re being surfaced directly by AI tools based on conversations and user needs. How does that shift app discovery? Visibility won’t depend on rankings alone — but on how clearly your app communicates what it actually does. 📚 Explore detailed insights and expert advice here: https://lnkd.in/gRRRRkzi

Commerce inside ChatGPT is no longer a concept. It is live. OpenAI introduced two new ways for merchants to sell inside ChatGPT: Instant Checkout and ChatGPT Apps. Instant Checkout lets you connect your product feed and sell through ChatGPT’s native shopping flow. ChatGPT Apps let you build your own in-chat storefront with full design and brand control. Instant Checkout will grow fast because it is simple to adopt and gives reach. Apps will take more effort but give brands full control and a direct relationship with the customer. Both move us toward the same future: commerce that happens inside conversation. We break down how each works, what they mean for merchants, and where this is going next. With the launch of Instant Checkout, OpenAI is now allowing app developers to launch apps within their #ChatGPT ecosystem. This development enables users to subscribe to apps, make payments, and search within apps (such as Zillow) all within ChatGPT. #OpenAI is making significant moves, including efforts to create a device, establish their own app store, accept payments, and develop an ad platform. There is a lot of projects they are working on. It will be interesting to see how these initiatives unfold. https://lnkd.in/gdQpV9AD
