The deeper I dive into AI, the clearer it becomes that its most transformative impact will be on how science itself is done. For a country like India—where R&D spending still hovers below 0.7% of GDP, compared to over 2.5% in the U.S. and China—AI offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity to leapfrog decades of under-investment and accelerate discovery at unprecedented speed. This could be India’s golden opportunity to leapfrog global competition, not by outspending others, but by out-innovating them with AI-driven science. AI will bring great prosperity to India !! As the impact of AI extends beyond the digital world into the physical world, we will begin to see the real value and promise of it. Just like India managed to overcome its digital bottleneck by using technology, we can make use of AI to overcome our infrastructure bottleneck. It might seem unrelated, but what holds us back are things like bad roads and bad traffic. If we can use AI to solve these issues, the economic potential unlocked will be huge. I hope we rise to the occasion and use AI to not only win the software market but also build a new India stack on the infrastructure front.
