How do you build a new club from scratch? It is a question that many investors and soccer entrepreneurs are asking themselves at the moment, with so much activity going on in North America. We hear a lot of ideas, a lot of theories, plans and ambitions but I thought it would be useful to actually take a case study and look at how it is done practically, by someone who has actually done it. Megan Oglesby and her team at Carolina Core FC have built an independent club in MLS NEXT Pro with a youth pathway in place a fantastic training facility and a real presence in the community. And you can listen to the story of the journey in this week's Soccer Business podcast where Megan takes us from the early conversations about the opportunity, through all the challenges and decisions, right up to now being an established club. There's lots of insights in the pod - and not just about soccer. Indeed, I personally got a lot out of hearing about how a club can be a component part of regional economic and community development. That's something that people outside of the USA could also find of value. It's on all the usual pod platforms. https://lnkd.in/enyesTpB PS: The Soccer Business newsletter is out!
