🌍 This week, our team took over London to put creative integrity into action. Leading a workshop at Blue Earth Summit, Programme Director Ece Eyisoy and Founder Lucy von Sturmer brought individuals, agencies and brands together to unpack how creative influence drives real-world climate impact. We then joined Oxford Net Zero, Purpose Disruptors, Exponential Roadmap Initiative, and Legal Charter 1.5 for the UK launch of the 'Serviced Emissions Hub', a landmark event to accelerate collective cross-sector action. To close the gap between influence and integrity, we need more than good intentions, we need the implementation of a shared frameworks such as Serviced Emissions - which we are delighted to accelerate! 🔗Stay tuned for the launch of something BIG as we look towards at COP30. Thanks to everyone that came down in person 🙏 #COP30 #BlueEarthSummit25 #ServicedEmissions To view or add a comment, sign in

Heading to COP30 in Belém? With more than 30 thematic areas and thousands of events across the Blue and Green Zones, COP30 is far more than a negotiation space — it’s a global platform for action, innovation, and collaboration. Each Thematic Day is structured around the six Action Agenda axes — Energy, Industry & Transport; Forests, Oceans & Biodiversity; Agriculture & Food Systems; Cities, Infrastructure & Water; Human and Social Development; and Cross-cutting Issues — highlighting key priorities and solutions for accelerated climate action. The pace and scale of COP can feel overwhelming. One approach is to use the thematic calendar as a guide: focus on the days most relevant to your goals and expertise, and let that shape how you plan meetings, attend side events, and explore potential collaborations. At the same time, keep space for serendipity — some of the most meaningful connections and opportunities often emerge in informal conversations and unplanned moments. COP30 isn’t just another climate summit — it’s where policy, innovation, finance, and implementation come together to shape the next decade of climate action. 🌏 VERGE 2025 opens today—while the UN announces global greenhouse emissions are finally set to fall. But is it too late, or just the beginning of real change? This week, as thousands descend on San Jose for the world’s leading climate tech conference, the UN released its latest climate pledge report: For the first time ever, the world is on track to reduce global emissions over the next decade—down 10% by 2035 if countries deliver on current promises. But here’s the hard truth: The 10% drop is historic, but we need 60% by 2035 to keep warming below 1.5°C—the threshold for avoiding climate disaster. COP30 looms large in Brazil, and policy gaps remain daunting. Why it matters for the built environment and climate tech: VERGE 2025 is where solutions meet reality—scaling renewables, smart grids, circular materials, Scope 3 decarbonization, and AI-driven resource tracking. Investors, innovators, and corporations are here not just to discuss targets—but to de-risk, deploy, and collaborate. The best green building strategies go far beyond efficiency; they tackle value chain emissions, supply chain resilience, and circular construction. Policy momentum sets the baseline; tech adoption and stakeholder action will push us the rest of the way. My key provocation: Are you ready for a marketplace where only measurable impact, verified progress, and true innovation attract funding and recognition? If not, ask yourself: What’s the one climate solution your business should deploy before COP30 puts it on the global radar? #VERGE2025 #ClimateTech #Decarbonization #NetZero #GreenBuilding #ESG #COP30 #Sustainability #Innovation #PolicyMomentum To view or add a comment, sign in

Did you know the financial decisions we make today shape the world of tomorrow? 🌱Green Finance is at the heart of it, providing the funds needed to protect our climate, ecosystems and natural resources. At #COP29, countries agreed on a $300 billion annual target (NCQG) for developing nations by 2035. And the #COP30 roadmap is aiming even higher—$1.3 TRILLION annually! A huge target that shows just how much action is needed. While we celebrate progress, global emissions are still rising. Innovative solutions and collaboration are key to turning pledges into real impact.🤝 Read more in our latest Topic of the Month: https://lnkd.in/gekgJuBN To view or add a comment, sign in

🌍 Net Zero isn’t just a vision — it’s survival. 🌍 #europe has set ambitious climate goals under the EU #greendeal & Fit for 55 package, but the science is clear: we must halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 to keep global warming within 1.5°C This is not a distant challenge — it’s today’s reality. Net Zero in Europe goes beyond compliance or polished reports. It demands tangible transformation across sectors: ✅ Decarbonising supply chains to cut Scope 3 emissions ✅ Accelerating renewable energy adoption and reducing fossil fuel dependency ✅ Transforming mobility with EVs, rail freight, and low-carbon logistics ✅ Engaging employees & stakeholders, because systemic change starts inside organisations european companies that act decisively on Net Zero are not only meeting regulatory expectations under #csrd, but also building resilience, market trust, and long-term competitiveness in a fast-changing global economy. At Earthly Guardians, we believe #netzero is not just a corporate goal — it’s a shared responsibility across borders, industries, and communities. 💚 ✨ What step — big or small — is your organisation taking towards Net Zero this month? 🌍 In the lead-up to COP30, it’s clear that investing in nature is not just a climate solution - it’s an economic imperative. Around the world, countries are facing the intertwined challenges of rising debt burdens, climate shocks, and nature loss. Nature offers a powerful lever for resilience, adaptation, and sustainable growth. Transitioning to a more equitable and nature-positive global economy and breaking the cycle of fossil fuel dependence and ecosystem degradation will require: ▪️ Financial tools that reward sustainability and resilience. ▪️ Policy environments that incentivize investment in nature. ▪️ Tools and data that make nature-related risks and impacts visible to decision-makers. NatureFinance brought these priorities to the UN Climate Change “Baku to Belém Roadmap to 1.3T”, an initiative charting a path to scale climate finance globally. We’re proud to join institutions including Inter-American Development Bank, Conservation International, Instituto Igarapé, The Nature Conservancy, CGIAR Climate Action, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, and World Resources Institute in shaping this global agenda - a key focus for #COP30 in Brazil. ⏩ Read our full submission: https://lnkd.in/eeMEKNTy #COP30 #NaturePositive #ClimateFinance #Bioeconomy COP30 Brazil COP30 Insights To view or add a comment, sign in

🌳 𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗗+ | 𝗔 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 As the world prepares for COP30 in Brazil — the long-awaited “Forest COP” — the protection of tropical forests must move to the centre of global climate action. Our latest REDD+ Business Initiative publication, developed with Face the Future, highlights why REDD+ remains one of the most powerful nature-based solutions for tackling the climate crisis, and why its full integration into Article 6 of the Paris Agreement is urgently needed. 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: 🌱 Governments must lead decisively with strong policy frameworks and incentives. 🏢 Businesses can make forest action a smart, strategic, and high-impact part of their climate goals. 📏 Climate standards must reflect both scientific evidence and on-the-ground realities. 🤝 NGOs and civil society must play their watchdog role, while engaging constructively to drive progress. This is a defining moment to protect forests, stabilise the climate, and secure a sustainable future. Let’s ensure that forests have a strong voice at COP30. ✔️ Read the publication here → https://lnkd.in/etMS2_nV #REDDplus #COP30 #ClimateAction #TropicalForests #NatureBasedSolutions #Sustainability #ParisAgreement #Deforestation #ClimateLeadership #Biodiversity #CarbonMarkets To view or add a comment, sign in

The issue at hand is much larger than just the aforementioned industries. The energy-demand is increasing at a steady rate, especially with the development of massive AI data centres. Even if corporate entities decide to optimize the existing process by switching to clean energy sources and renewables - the idea of complete decarbonization remains as mythical as ever. ♻️ The BBC reports that around $3tn will be spent on building AI data centres between 2025-2029. That means the water consumption and electricity required for data processing would remain at an all time high. The only way I see any form of decarbonization (or carbon neutrality) at all; is if instead of setting up generic data centres, the focus could be diverted to specialized computing ecosystems. 🖥️ Finland and Italy have already started a workaround for this method with LUMI and Leonardo, respectively. So not all hope is entirely lost. But more work should be done on this. Only a global collective coming together, working on standardized solutions and recognizing the actual issues on hand; can make a sure-fire breakthrough in complete decarbonization in all the major sectors. 🌲 ‘Three-quarters of carbon emissions come from outside the electricity sector - in steel, cement, shipping and aviation. These are the hard-to-abate industries where we urgently need breakthroughs.’ Sumant Sinha, ReNew CEO and member of the #AllianceOfCEOClimateLeaders, explains why government support is key to scaling industry solutions and unlocking capital for deep decarbonization. Representing 130+ major companies with $4 trillion in combined revenues, the Alliance is urging policy-makers to act on climate change. In their open letter to #COP30, the CEOs are calling on governments to create the right enabling environment for businesses to accelerate the shift toward a low-emissions, #NaturePositive economy. As the world looks to #COP30, momentum is building for collective action on climate change. The World Economic Forum and its partners are helping scale what already works - from innovative finance models to business-led solutions that deliver sustainable prosperity, for #PeoplePlanetProgress.
