How do you build a premium, multi-location brand during unstable times in the country? This is the question that Ilia Kenigshtein, founder of Creative States, answers every day. He's built a network of high-concept spaces across Ukraine—from a Gilded Age hotel theme to a modern Hogwarts—all of which require flawless execution. Running a business like this, especially now, means operational efficiency isn't just a goal, but the foundation for survival and growth. Every minute spent on manual tasks is a minute not spent on the member experience or strategy. In the video below, Ilia shares a key part of his operational playbook: the software that helps his team work faster and manage their unique spaces effectively. It’s a powerful look at how the right internal systems allow a team to focus on building a world-class brand regardless of the circumstances. You can find a full case study on Spacebring/case studies.

Business consultants create elaborate company names believing sophisticated branding attracts premium clients. Milán Golovics named his consultancy after Vietnamese bao buns simply because he enjoys the food, then retroactively created "Business as Optimal" to justify the choice. His authentic approach values personal preferences over manufactured corporate identity. Sometimes genuine branding emerges from honest personal interests rather than strategic marketing calculations. It`s often tempting to think that success begins somewhere “out there” Be it in the global market, at international conferences or through big-name partnerships. But the truth is, global opportunities are almost always rooted in local credibility. When you invest in building genuine relationships in your own community with clients, partners and peers - you’re doing more than creating business momentum. You’re establishing a foundation of trust that becomes your passport to the world. Trust is the currency that travels. It speaks every language, crosses borders effortlessly and turns local work into global impact. Before any major deal, collaboration or innovation, there’s always a moment of belief - someone choosing to trust your word, your work ethic and your consistency. So, before chasing global recognition, focus on earning local respect. Show up, deliver, support then build. Because when people know who you are and what you stand for at home, the world starts to open its doors. Build locally, earn trust and then go global. Now that I've lived in Milan for a year, here are three things I know about moving abroad when you own a business: 1. If the foundation of your business is built on strong relationships and trust, it will hold steady through big changes. I took a risk and I am so happy that clients stayed, referred, and a few actually returned. 2. Your business can grow when you find ways to make space in your calendar for creativity. In my case, the time zone shift forced me to batch my meetings in the evening and gave me extra, uninterrupted time in the afternoon to work on the business vs. in the business. 3. Having the right team in place is essential. I made sweeping changes to my team of subcontractors before I left. It wasn't easy to do but it has made a big difference in how my business runs, no matter what time zone I'm in. Moving to Italy has stretched me in ways I couldn’t have predicted. Some days it’s exhilarating, other days uncomfortable, but it confirmed what I’ve always believed: relationships, creativity, and the right team matter most. Those three things have carried my business across time zones and through all the unknowns. What’s something in your life or work that stretched you more than you expected, but reinforced what you already knew deep down?
