Honda’s Director of Procurement Sustainability, Matt Daniel, explained how the automaker’s Resource Circulation program is putting circularity into action: “All the things we’re separating, especially plastics, we’ve found companies that will take them and find new uses for them at their end of life. To be successful, we have to be local, standing up centers and reducing our reliance on harvesting raw materials from the planet.” Follow the conversation at #GEPINNOVATE2025.

🔥 Scaling Circularity in Global Mobility with Aptiv We work with the world’s leading manufacturers to turn complex supply chains into connected Circular Ecosystems. This week, our team sat down with APTIV, a $20B global technology leader designing the brain and nervous system of next-generation vehicles. Together, we explored how circularity can scale across 190,000 people and 49 countries and why industrial symbiosis is key to making it work. Here’s what we uncovered 👇 The Circular Reality 🚗 240 kg of plastic per vehicle, yet less than 20% is recycled in Europe. ♻️ Over 800,000 tonnes of automotive plastics are landfilled each year. 🧩 Advanced materials like composites, electronics and carbon-black plastics resist traditional recycling. 🌐 Global operations across 140+ facilities create fragmented material flows. ⚙️ Safety standards demand high-performance materials that recycled content often can’t yet match. These challenges are exactly why Circular Ecosystems exists. We help companies bridge data, materials, and decision-making to close industrial loops, turning circularity from a goal into a system. #CircularEcosystems #IndustrialSymbiosis #CircularEconomy

♻️ What if car dismantling could fuel both profitability and sustainability — transforming end-of-life vehicles into resources for a circular economy? Autodemontage Klaas Boer is pioneering a scalable dismantling model that makes high recycling rates economically viable. By focusing on source separation, the company prevents valuable materials from being incinerated — improving recycling and reducing carbon emissions across the automotive sector. Today, nearly 80% of automotive plastics in Europe are still burned for energy. Klaasboer’s model enables the recovery of plastics, ferrous, and non-ferrous materials not only from ELVs but also from used components returned by part refurbishers — keeping materials in the loop and out of waste streams. Within the Global Impact Coalition’s Automotive Working Group, Klaasboer collaborates with partners to scale this approach and prove that collective action drives real circular impact. 👉 Join the GIC Innovation Ecosystem to co-develop solutions that accelerate circular transformation across the automotive value chain.

Sustainability is not a buzzword, it is strategic. It reduces reliance on virgin raw material, it slashes carbon from the get-go, it makes sustainability accessible in aftermarket, second-life markets, and increases resilience to regulation, supply chain shocks, resource scarcity. @Valeo #sustainability is built in from day one, starting with the materials and design for reuse. Every screw, every circuit, every plastic has a role to play. #Circularity is embedded in every stage, from material selection to remanufacturing strategy, as up to 80% of environmental impact is determined at the design stage. #Remanufacturing extends the life of parts, cuts waste, and slashes emissions versus making from scratch. Thinking of a design including the total circular economy from the beginning will help to extend life products and will have a real impact on the future. Check this short video on some innovations driving this strategy #Sustainability #Valeo #CircularEconomy #Remanufacturing #Automotive #GreenInnovation

Accelerating Circular Solutions for E-Motors: Workshop Insights from C-ECO and Circular Republic Together with CIRCULAR REPUBLIC, an initiative by UnternehmerTUM, Circular Economy Solutions GmbH (C-ECO) recently hosted a #workshop focused on the #recycling of electric motors. The event brought together key stakeholders from across the value chain - including OEMs, motor manufacturers, and recycling experts - to explore scalable solutions for the recovery and #reuse of critical raw materials. At the heart of the workshop was a pilot project aimed at testing the feasibility of a continuous recycling loop for neodymium magnets and other valuable materials extracted from end-of-life motors and assemblies. The goal: to identify and validate secondary input streams under industrial conditions, paving the way for a more resilient and circular supply chain in Europe. As part of the program, Circular Economy Solutions GmbH (C-ECO) presented its CoremanNet service, including a group visit to the CoremanNet #selection station in France, offering participants a hands-on view of reverse logistics in action. Beyond technical discussions, the workshop also delved into business models within the circular economy, highlighting the importance of collaboration and innovation. With its deep expertise in reverse logistics and circular consultancy, Circular Economy Solutions GmbH (C-ECO) contributed valuable insights, helping shape the dialogue around practical implementation and system-level change. CIRCULAR REPUBLIC, as part of Europe’s largest innovation and start-up center UnternehmerTUM, empowers companies and start-ups to develop and scale circular economy innovations. By connecting relevant actors across industries, the initiative aims to drive systemic transformation along the entire value chain. #ceco #coremannet #circulareconomy #sustainability

At Valeo Power, we don’t “do” sustainability, we build it in from day one, starting with the materials we pick and how we design for reuse. Because yes, every screw, every circuit, every plastic has a role to play. We embed circularity into every stage — from the materials we select to our remanufacturing strategy. Why it matters ? Because over the lifetime of a product, up to 80 % of environmental impact is locked in at the design stage so every material choice counts to anticipate and reduce the impact of nature. Remanufacturing extends the life of parts, cuts waste, and slashes emissions versus making from scratch. Thinking of a design including the total circular economy from the beginning will help to extend life products and will have a real impact on the future. And yes, we’re pushing the boundary because this is more than “green for the sake of green” — it’s strategic, it reduces reliance on virgin raw material, it slashes carbon from the get-go, it makes sustainability accessible in aftermarket, fleets, second-life markets, it bolsters resilience: against regulation, supply chain shocks, resource scarcity. So, what do you think? Have you seen standout remanufacturing examples in your industry? #Sustainability #Valeo #ValeoPower #CircularEconomy #Remanufacturing #Automotive #GreenInnovation
