Australia–India Tech Connections program, a number of individuals and organizations oversee and deliver the initiative. The program is funded by the Australian government's Maitri Grant Program and delivered by Asialink Business in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Key program contributors Centre for Australia-India Relations (CAIR) Provides support and funding through the Maitri Grants Program, which was announced by Foreign Minister Penny Wong in July 2025. Advisory Board: This board guides CAIR's overall strategy and includes former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh AO, appointed in March 2025. Asialink Business Manages and delivers the program. Key staff involved in the announcement: Robert Law, Aaron Soans, Claire Stephens, Danielle Rajendram, and Shiraz Engineer. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) A key program partner in India, helping Australian businesses engage with the local cleantech and agtech sectors. Maitri Grant Program recipients The program's initiatives, including resources and training for cleantech, are funded by the Maitri Grants. Key figures announced in July 2025 who are connected to the program include: Asialink Business: Received a grant for its cleantech and agtech partnership models. Lowy Institute: Received a grant for its India Chair, lifting the quality of research and policy conversations about India. Program focus The Australia–India Tech Connections program supports collaboration between Indian and Australian industries by: Assisting Australian cleantech and agtech businesses to enter India's innovation economy.
