This Europe-wide recognition elevates our collaboration with online platforms, which are now required to prioritise illegal content notices submitted by React and acknowledge us as a reliable entity. As the first Trusted Flagger specialising in counterfeiting enforcement, React is now first in line to report and help remove infringing content and goods from any online platform offering services in the European Union. This position entails upholding high standards of competence and diligence in detecting, assessing, and reporting illegal content. Temu Joins IACC MAC Meeting to Advance Joint Efforts Against Counterfeiting Temu participated in the second meeting of the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition’s (IACC) Marketplace Advisory Council (MAC) in Washington, D.C., which brought together e-commerce platforms, social media companies, payment providers, and global brands for cross-industry collaboration on actionable solutions in the fight against counterfeiting. 🚨Every year, unsafe products reach European consumers through online sales. The EU Safety Gate rings the alarm: in 2024 alone, more than 400 electrical appliances (including home appliances) from outside the EU were flagged, with over 200 considered high-risk. Behind these numbers lie real risks to consumer safety and trust in the Single Market. Together with 6️⃣3️⃣ other European associations, we underlined in a joint statement on e-commerce the need for a safe, fair and trustworthy online marketplace. Despite existing EU rules, enforcement remains weak, and third-party sellers from outside the EU can still bypass key safety and sustainability standards. From unsafe and non-compliant products to misleading claims and unfair competition, the current system too often fails to protect citizens. This is about consumer safety, but also trust, fairness, and a level playing field. European companies which comply with strict EU laws face unfair competition from third-party sellers who exploit loopholes. That’s why stronger enforcement mechanisms are urgently needed. Rules must be applied equally, both offline and online, inside and outside the EU. Only then can consumers shop safely and responsibly, and European businesses compete fairly. 📢 Together with 64 environmental and consumer protection NGOs, industry, retail and wholesale organisations, we call on EU policymakers to urgently address persistent regulatory loopholes in relation to online trade via online marketplaces. Great to see our research for the European Commission being put in practice, as the #European Commission introduces new labels to empower consumers and advance #circular economy. Behavioural insights show there is a large potential to close the gap between consumers’ willingness to engage and their actual engagement which these new requirements seek to close. ✅ A step towards clearer rights, stronger trust and more sustainable choices. Starting from 27 September 2026, 2️⃣ new tools will be in place across the EU to give more visibility to consumer rights: a mandatory notice reminding people of their minimum 2-year legal guarantee (longer in some countries) and a durability label for businesses that voluntarily provide guarantees beyond this period, covering the entire product at no additional cost. These measures will make rights clearer and increase visibility for products designed to last longer, and we fully support this direction as it reflects the value of durability in the #SingleMarket.

A mandatory EU notice reminding consumers about their legal guarantee rights, which will be prominently on display in all shops, both online and offline. All consumers have a legal guarantee protection of at least two years on products sold in the EU; some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. When consumers receive, for example, a product that does not function as intended, sellers are obliged to provide free repair or replacement. In some cases, consumers may be eligible to a price reduction or full reimbursement. More detailed information is available here. A new EU product label for producers that choose to offer consumers a voluntary commercial guarantee of durability for a specific product at no additional cost to the consumer, covering the entire product, not just a component of it, and with a duration of more than two years.
