We are excited to share that Raine has invested in General Intuition, a frontier AI research lab building foundation models and embodied agents trained on large-scale interaction data to advance the next frontier of intelligent behavior. We are proud to support Co-Founder and CEO, Pim de Witte and the team alongside Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst as they push the boundaries of embodied intelligence. "As the AI revolution accelerates, the edge won’t come from algorithms alone. It will come from leaders who know when to lean into data — and when to lead with heart." As GenAI goes mainstream, Fred Hassan, Director at Warburg Pincus LLC and Former Chairman & CEO of Schering-Plough Research Institute argues that EQ still remains important. 🧠 What does it mean to be human in the age of AI? In the latest edition of Adamastor we start from the book 'AI and the Art of Being Human: A Practical Guide to Thriving with AI While Rediscovering Yourself in the Process' by Andrew Maynard and Jeffrey D. Abbott to reflect on our evolving relationship with technology, not just as users or observers, but as creators, thinkers, and human beings. A few threads we hope resonate: + In an age where AI can replicate, suggest, and even “create,” how do we preserve the distinctly human, our intuition, empathy, struggle, and meaning-making? + As AI amplifies abilities, it also magnifies responsibility: who steers its use, and what values do we embed? + The tension between automation and authorship is not simply technical; it’s existential. Along the way, Adamastor touch on the the 2025 The Nobel Prize in Economics, awarded to economists who studied innovation-driven growth through the lens of creative destruction, showing how new ideas displace the old and how that dynamic fuels long-term advancement. That insight connects to entrepreneurship: progress requires risk, disruption, and radical rethinking of how things are done. Just as innovation can uproot markets, ideas can unsettle paradigms, including how we see ourselves in relation to machines. If you engage with AI — as a creator, thinker, or skeptic — I hope Adamastor sparks new perspectives. Dive in, question assumptions, and let’s converse about what it means to be human in a rapidly shifting world. 📖 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dZkYEPMG

Humanity’s superpower is our ability to cooperate with strangers at massive scale. To build human-like AI, we may need to let it evolve a society first. That is what I am trying to do in my new blog series. In the first post, I identify the four key properties necessary for society to emerge, and introduce Territories — a new environment where agents with divergent interests either learn to cooperate or see their lineage go extinct. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a TEXT Talk by Peter Dalsgaard titled “Reflective Friction: Designing for Slow Thinking in Fast Systems.” Generative AI tools are often praised for their fluency and speed, but Peter’s talk offered a compelling counterpoint: Friction can be useful and may even be needed. He introduced the concept of reflective friction, a design strategy that subtly slows down interaction at key moments to encourage users to compare, question, and rethink. This approach aims to foster more deliberate and reflective engagement with AI, reminding us that thoughtful design can help balance efficiency with critical reflection. Thank you, Peter for sharing your insights and to everyone who joined us for the talk and contributed to the rich discussion and debate. 🙌 Danmarks Grundforskningsfond / The Danish National Research Foundation

Creativity is a trainable mindset. When we notice what makes us feel creative and intentionally practice entering that state, our brain strengthens and new ideas flow naturally. In the age of AI, our real advantage isn’t letting machines think for us, but using them to expand on the ideas only we can imagine. Great insights from the speaker Adam Green on Unleashing Imagination: The Creative Brain and AI at the Center for BrainHealth
