The Netherlands is well placed to lead the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) market, owing to its strategic geography, mature fuel infrastructure, major harbours and airports, deep local expertise and a stable business climate. While companies are progressing multiple production capacity projects, three priorities remain: 1. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭: To implement European blending mandates most effectively, we need robust market mechanisms. 📈 2. 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝: Hitting the Dutch target of 14% SAF by 2030 requires stronger voluntary demand, potentially supported by financial incentives across the value chain. 💰 3. 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: De risk long term contracts and establish a fair, Europe wide playing field so sustainability targets also drive economic growth and strategic autonomy. 🏭 Read the full report for a deeper dive: https://lnkd.in/eCHniYDZ #FutureofEnergy #DeloitteNetherlands #SustainableAviation #SAF #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition To70 Aviation

With global air travel continuing to grow, the need to reduce carbon emissions has never been greater, with Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) being a major solution. Unlike traditional jet fuel, SAF is produced from renewable resources such as waste oils, agricultural residues, and even captured CO₂. It can reduce lifecycle emissions by up to 80% while working seamlessly with today’s aircraft engines and fuelling systems. ✈️ At Avia Solutions Group, we see SAF as more than just an alternative fuel, but a bridge to a cleaner, more responsible aviation future. Did you know that the European Union have mandated that all aviation fuel in the region must be 5% SAF by 2030? 🤔 NorSAF, an Avia Solutions Group subsidiary, is the largest SAF provider in the Baltics and aims to provide SAF and synthetic eSAF at scale from 20230 onwards. Daily-Mallorca-News: Green jet fuel could fly from Düsseldorf! A Düsseldorf pilot plant plans to convert CO2 from the air into sustainable kerosene using Power-to-Liquid, with green hydrogen as the partner. Eurowings has signed on to buy the first three years—one big vote of confidence, but still a niche. About 150 tons/year now, enough for a handful of Düsseldorf–Mallorca hops. A real-world lab on the road to cleaner skies. 🚀🌱 https://lnkd.in/dw_TQQjS #SustainableAviationFuel #PowerToLiquid #DirectAirCapture #Eurowings #Dusseldorf

What if the air above Dusseldorf became tomorrow’s jet fuel? ✈️ Together with Greenlyte Carbon Technologies we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a strategic partnership, intending to become the exclusive offtaker of the entire production volume of next-generation sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from Greenlyte’s pilot plant at Düsseldorf Airport – one of the biggest facilities of its kind worldwide. 💪 CO₂ captured directly from the atmosphere will be combined with green hydrogen to produce Power-to-Liquid (PtL) jet fuel. ⚡🛢️ The plant is scheduled for completion in 2028 and is expected to deliver around 150 tons of PtL-SAF per year. This new partnership marks an important step towards a more sustainable future for aviation – and we’re proud to be part of this journey from the very beginning. 🥰 #eurowings More info: https://bit.ly/3V0LdqW

The European Commission is taking a significant step towards a greener future for aviation, committing $4.3 million to support the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). This funding, part of the EU's Green Deal, will power an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) program to help 12 partner countries, including India, Kenya, and South Africa, develop their own SAF production capabilities. The initiative, formally known as the Capacity-building and Training for Sustainable Aviation Fuels programme (ACT-SAF), will provide crucial support for feasibility studies, technical assistance, and certification. This is about more than just decarbonization; it’s about building a sustainable and equitable global market. As European Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean noted, "We estimate that the SAF market will create more than 200,000 additional jobs in the EU, and expect similar benefits for partner countries ramping up their production..." This project underscores the shared global responsibility to build a cleaner future for international air travel. https://lnkd.in/gW7mD838 #SustainableAviation #Sustainability #Aviation #ESG #EuropeanCommission #GB2B
