🚨 Hunger remains unacceptably high: The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2025 🚨 In 2024, up to 720 million people experienced chronic hunger. Despite a modest reduction in overall food insecurity, conflict, weather extremes and economic instability continue to drive hunger at alarming levels. Low-income countries are particularly hard-hit by food price inflation. A 10% rise in food prices led to: 🔸 a 3.5% increase in moderate or severe food insecurity 🔸 a 1.8% increase in severe food insecurity Without decisive action, 512 million people could be chronically hungry by 2030—nearly 60% in Africa. 📢 FAO, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), UNICEF, World Health Organization and WFP are sounding the alarm. Food Governance is taken over by #corporate greed. UN agencies seems to have failed miserably in seeming this tide rather went with the flow.
