Electric buses have come a long way. Now it’s time to electrify the coach segment. The new Volvo BZR Electric coach chassis brings up to 720 kWh in battery capacity and a range of up to 700 km. That opens up longer routes with fewer charging stops, making electric an option where it wasn’t before. With this launch, Volvo Buses enters the line haul and the tour and charter market. Built on a modular platform, the chassis can be configured for various coach operations and markets. Charging is flexible too, with support for both depot and on-route options.

🚗 3-Cylinder Engines vehicles: The Hidden Trade-off While 3-cylinder engines like those in the Nissan Note and Toyota Vitz offer great fuel economy and compact design, they HOWEVER come with key drawbacks — more vibration, less torque, and reduced refinement. If one cylinder develops a fuel or combustion issue, the engine loses about a third of its power, causing serious performance drops and engine vibration becomes so high especially on idle. Volvo Trucks have introduced an auto speed limitation as part of the Volvo Connect digital service. Called 'Safety Zones', fleet managers can set speed limits for each truck as it enters a predefined geographical area ("geofencing"). When the truck is operated within the area, acceleration above the zone speed limit is restricted by the engine. The truck actively brakes to reach the zone speed limit, if it enters the zone with a higher speed. Volvo is one of the first manufacturers to launch a safety feature of this kind. In the 1700's, steam powered cars were invented. I'm 1834, EV's were invented. By 1900, after being on the market for 65 years, EVs were 38% of the car market, while steam engines held 40% of the car market. EVs are so garbage that they couldn't even out-perform steam. As per Top Gear Publishing article. Hybrid EV powertrains are huge abroad though were last seen in USA on a BMW i3 sedan. They make total sense for non last mile delivery applications that Harbinger's hybrid range extender equipped chassis addresses: RVs for THOR Industries, Inc. But also middle trucking.
