Multiple Microsoft Azure and 365 services seem to be down/severely degraded perfomance. Seems the culprit is DNS. I always tell Graham Elston that the trouble shooting steps for most Cloud issues are: 1. Check DNS 2. Check point 1

Both AWS and Azure have had major outages over the last 2 weeks. Over the years, in order to sell bare metal and private cloud solutions, I have had to overcome the myth that public clouds are not only unfailing but your data is inherently secure and redundant too. I am out of the game…for now, so I no longer have a self interest in pushing alternative solutions to AWS and the like. My post is merely to put a punctuation mark on the hyperscalers’ recent outages. AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle and every other public cloud suffer outages. Your data is not inherently secure or backed up within the public cloud. You have to configure your instance(s) for security and backups are an add-on…just like bare-metal servers. My only interest is in making sure your business does not have a catastrophe because you thought “everything is just taken care of for me at AWS.”

Cloud Security Simplified: AWS vs Azure vs GCP Cloud security isn’t about who has the most tools — it’s about who protects better, faster, and smarter. Here’s a simplified look at how the top 3 cloud providers approach identity, encryption, and threat detection differently 🟧 AWS → Granular & powerful, but complex for new users 🟦 Azure → Best hybrid integration with on-prem AD 🟩 GCP → Clean, zero-trust design and built-in transparency Here’s a quick, practical look at how AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud handle key areas of cloud security.

Every now and then, there this moment where you have to sit down and focus. Sometimes just to study, sometimes to perform. Today was test day for the AZ-500 exam, also know as Azure Security Administrator. This one guides you through all the new settings and improvements on security side of Azure; one of the most important skills when working in the cloud. Even when you're not building or maintaining solutions in Azure, I think it's vital to have both knowledge and awareness on securing your assets in the cloud. It will give you some guidance on what questions to ask when working in the cloud, regardless of your role. Never take anything for granted, never accept the defaults. #MicrosoftLearn #Azure #Security #SecurityEngineer #AZ500 #MCT #MicrosoftCertifiedTrainer
