How a common sense approach solved Traffic Congestion

I live in the 1st cross at Chinnappanahlli Bangalore, an area near to Marathahalli.

Our Chinnappanahlli main road connects to ITPL software techno park, so I can experience the busy traffic throughout the day as this route is supposed to be the short cut for commuters travelling to ITPL. There is a level crossing which falls in between worsening the situation whenever a train passes & the entire traffic comes to a standstill. As the level crossing is cleared after the train had passed all the vehicle tries to jump on in order to move ahead of other blocking each others way creating more mess. This was a daily tension for the residents as they used to the biggest sufferers.

A team of enthusiasts residing in the locality thought of blocking the commuters and drive them to a different route. But that was not a feasible option at all. One fine evening I along with a local friend of mine studied & analysed the problem, after a week of brainstorming session we both came up with a solution which got implemented after getting necessary approvals from the BBMP authority.

Now what was the original problem and what we implemented as a solution is represented pictorially
