Applications Open for Startlab Galway

Bank of Ireland is calling on all tech based startup companies to apply for one of 6 places on the Startlab Galway programme. A six month incubator programme for innovative businesses that is only 2 hours from Dublin and an hour from the U.S border in Shannon. Galway spawned over 1,000 startups in 2016 alone and was recently awarded the title of “The World's Friendliest City". It attractively combines a cosmopolitan diversity with a distinctive regional culture that has resulted in a deep pool of talent. The cost of living in the city is currently 22% cheaper than the capital, coupled with good infrastructure links and talent, it has fostered a unique startup eco system on the West Coast.

Startlab is based on the 1st floor of Bank of Ireland building overlooking Mainguard Street and the famous Shop Street. Successful applicants will progress through the programme and benefit from a range of complementary facilities including desk space, high-speed Wi-Fi, conference rooms as well as one to one sessions with key coaches and mentors, introductions to investors and support from Bank of Ireland’s Innovation Team.

Brian O’Rourke CEO of City Swifter said, “The Bank of Ireland startlab program was a great experience for us at City Swifter. Regular collaboration with expert mentors and access to BOI’s vast network helped us immensely when honing our offering, scaling the business internationally and attracting key talent. The contacts we made also allowed us to navigate our way through things like accessing funding as an example.” When referring to starting a business in Galway he said, “Galway is a fantastic place to start a business, it has great links to the whole country and the startup community is really thriving”

Applications are now open until 30th of November, 2017 at www.startlabhq.com
