Appointed Deputy General Manager of the BIS
I am deeply honored to have been given the opportunity to become the Deputy General Manager of the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) as of September 1, 2023. In my new role, I will support BIS General Manager Agustín Carstens in leading the BIS and promoting a broad range of issues of great importance for the future of central banking and the global financial system -- as well as the organization itself. I am particularly excited to join Agustín at the current juncture and to help him build on his tremendous success in driving transformation at the BIS. I look forward to meeting the staff of the BIS and to working with new colleagues in Basel and across all BIS offices.
Over the past eight years, there was never a dull moment, and I enjoyed every minute of it! I would like to thank all my colleagues at the SNB and give special thanks to Thomas Jordan, Martin Schlegel and previously Fritz Zurbrügg on the Governing Board, to my deputy Thomas Moser without whom I would not have been able to advance on so many important topics, as well as to the amazing teams in my Department and across the SNB, of which I am very proud. It has been a great pleasure working with such people and I will carry many memorable moments with me into the next phases of my professional work. And until June 30, I look forward to continuing our important work together.
