From Switzerland to Rwanda - Elucid's Q2 wrap-up!
We didn't think our year could get any more exciting after the incredible first quarter, but we were wrong! The second quarter of 2025 has been simply jam-packed for us here, with lots of exciting events, experiences, and learnings. What have we been up to for the past three months? Let's take a look!
Elucid Social Club in Zürich
We could never do a wrap-up post for the past quarter without mentioning the fun Elucid Social Club gathering in May, which we hosted together with our investor and board member, elea , at the ViCAFE Roastery in Zürich. The evening brought together leaders from philanthropy, global health, and sustainable supply chains to explore a central question: What does it take to build truly resilient farming communities? A recurring theme was trust among partners, with farmers, and in approaches that align business value with social outcomes. From reducing household healthcare burdens to improving farmer retention, we explored how investing in health strengthens supply chains from within. The discussion also highlighted the catalytic power of blended finance and the need for deep cross-sector collaboration to create scalable, lasting impact. Make sure to read the full recap of the event here!
Prizes, awards, and successes
The past few months have been a whirlwind of exciting successes for us here at Elucid.
Firstly, our partner, Max Felchlin AG , won the prestigious Swiss Ethics Award for our work together titled 'Healthcare in the Cacao-Origin Regions'. Our health-program implementation programs in Ghana, Venezuela, and Ecuador, which enable cacao farmers and their families to access medical care, won the award, which honours companies that exemplify corporate responsibility and sustainable corporate leadership.
Bringing access to healthcare to remote rural farming communities isn't just a success story you can tell in numbers, though. Incredible photographs of our programs, which capture the stories of the communities we serve, won the FINCA Photo Prize this year! You can find all of the winning photos, including ours, on their website. Our two winning photos are directly below.
And, last but certainly not least, we are finalists of MassChallenge Switzerland! Out of over 1500 applicants, we were selected for the 2025 accelerator program in Switzerland. Over the course of four months, we have the honour of being taken on an entrepreneurship journey, connecting with industry experts, corporations, investors, and a global community of people committed to making a change. Keep your eyes peeled for updates of our travels to MassChallenge workshops in July.
Conferences and trips
As part of her SCTA Next Gen Sustainability Prize journey, Louisa Marie Truß spent an eye-opening week in Rwanda to visit Rwacof ( Sucafina ) and the Kahawatu Foundation . The trip was spent exploring the heart of the coffee supply chain alongside fellow finalist Marcela Jaramillo . From visiting nurseries and washing stations to cupping sessions and climbing volcanoes, the trip offered deep insights into community-driven resilience, the complexity of coffee quality grading, and sustainable farming practices. Highlights included meeting empowered VSLA (Village Savings and Loan Association) groups, learning from , and seeing firsthand how premium Rwandan coffee makes its way from seedling to shipping bag. A truly inspiring experience that's sure to shape future sustainability work at Elucid!
Louisa hasn't just been busy in Rwanda, though. She's just gotten back from the World of Coffee conference alongside Samuel Knauss , where they spent time meeting with the people and companies that help shape the coffee supply chain. Particularly with our upcoming program for coffee farmers in Uganda, it is vital that our team stays up-to-date on the whole picture of the coffee supply chain, and the World of Coffee conference did not disappoint! Look out for our learnings from the conference in upcoming posts.

Enjoy hearing about what we do, but don't fancy reading so many blog posts? Or maybe you want to share our solution with a friend or colleague, but don't know where to start? Look no further than the most recent episode of the Kaffeemacher Podcast, hosted by Philipp Schallberger , where our co-founders, Julius Emmrich and Samuel Knauss , talk about how Elucid came to be, what we do, and why it's important.
Additionally, 60 Decibels , who have externally evaluated the impact of our work, published a blog post about how we have been using their insights to improve every aspect of what we do, ensuring that we utilize full transparency and operational reflections to maintain the high-quality performance of our programs. Exactly how we utilize 60_decibels impact report and what it meant for how we work is detailed in the blog: give it a read here! You can also watch the interview with Louisa that formed the blog over here on LinkedIn.
