How to create a new value proposition in lighting? Think Tank - 28 March 2018

Most lighting professionals are convinced that techniques of daylighting or electric lighting provide, when properly designed, a wide range of benefits to their clients. However, most clients focus on costs or TCOs and forget to fully understand all the possible benefits of lighting schemes in buildings and cities, for their users ( rental value, purchase value, market value, comfort, efficacy, productivity, social value, health, happiness, etc.). A Think-Tank is organized on this topic in Lyon, France, by Cluster Lumière and will bring a number of professionals, buildings owners, facility managers, scientists. A brainstorming session is organized to identify ways to dig strategic data and to communicate them to clients. Programme and registration (in French): Programme

 

Values on graph are expressed in Euros per Mega-lumen-hours per year delivered on the work plane (TCO expressed in costs related to investment, energy use and maintenance). This could be done also in terms of human exposure, or impact on the environment. Long term comparison of TCOs give some surprising results.
