Korozo Knows // Know Korozo – World Environment Day 2025
In the latest edition of Korozo Group’s Korozo Knows // Know Korozo newsletter, we share important developments that coincide with and support the efforts of the UN Environment Programme 's World Environment Day 2025 iniytiative and update you on the work we are doing to deliver sustainability, pack by pack.
World Environment Day (5 June) is actively promoting a healthier future for people and the planet by calling on governments, communities, and individuals to do more to #BeatPlasticPollution.
As a manufacturer of flexible packaging, we are acutely aware of the role we must play in driving systemic change that will ensure the creation of a safe and secure future for all.
Steps we must all take
“Sustainability is not just a goal but a necessity and moral obligation to build a safe and secure future for all.
“World Environment Day 2025 serves as a stark reminder that the health of our planet is intrinsically tied to the health of communities, future generations, and businesses.
“As the world continues to face up to the challenge of environmental damage and degradation, navigate economic uncertainty, and combat social inequality, the need for sustainability-focused mindsets, practices, and solutions has never been more urgent.”
Those are the thoughts of CEO Adam Barnett , as we transition into the leading global supplier of sustainable flexible packaging solutions.

Changes we must all make
We recognise that the packaging industry has a unique and powerful role to play in creating a more sustainable and circular economy and changing behaviours.
Our approach to sustainability goes beyond compliance. It embraces proactive leadership and driving meaningful change within our industry, leading by example, and maintaining full transparency in our actions and progress.
Central to this vision is the circular economy and building a world where reducing, reusing, and recycling are the norm.
We are extremely proud of the KoroRCY solution that is enabling brands globally to create fully recyclable flexible packaging that gives consumers the opportunity to make sustainable choices and act with the best intentions towards the environment. At the same time as being recyclable, the use of PCR and PIR content make these packaging solutions PPWR-ready with a high percentage of recycled content.
Recognition we have received
With our commitment to sustainability is engrained in our DNA, we do what we do to make a genuine difference. That in itself is enough to drive on to greater things. Nonetheless, receiving recognition from our peers and the wider industry empowers us to do more and be better.
Our work with McBride to create fully recyclable and PPWR-ready packaging for Dirk Rossmann GmbH’s Domol laundry detergent capsules sold in Europe has won a Silver trophy in the Plastic Packaging and Packaging Materials Category at the 2025 PAGÇEV Plastic Recycling Awards.
We are proud to have been named to the CDP A List for our environmental leadership. Being among the top 2% of companies worldwide to receive an “A” rating is a powerful validation of our actions and ambition across People, Planet, and Packaging.
We have also retained our EcoVadis Silver Medal, reflecting our continuous improvements in sustainability performance. This recognition reinforces our determination to deliver sustainability, pack by pack, and inspires us to aim even higher in the years ahead through transparent, data-driven action.
Collaboration as a catalyst for change
We know that our sustainability achievements to date would not have been possible without the dedication of our employees, the support of our partners, and the trust of our customers.
Our sustainability strategy is the product of collective effort and a shared vision for a greener, fairer, and more resilient future. From supply chain optimisation to product innovation and social responsibility, our teams work together with passion and purpose. Weare proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we remain committed to continuous improvement.
Through high-level certification and by aligning ourselves with globally-recognised initiatives such as CEFLEX and the UN Global Compact, we ensure that our goals are aligned with international best practices and measurable outcomes. These partnerships not only validate our progress but also keep us accountable to the highest standards.
