Metrology and Additive Manufacturing: Enhancing Precision and Accuracy through Innovative Approaches
We're excited to bring you the latest updates from the world of Metrology and Additive Manufacturing in this week's newsletter. As we gear up for the upcoming METROMEET conference, we wanted to give you a sneak peek into what you can expect from the CT Scanning and Quality Assessment track.
Join us at the conference and hear from our esteemed speakers, including:
In his presentation, Ibon Holgado will unveil a groundbreaking approach to evaluating the accuracy of volumetric features of additive manufacturing internal defects using computed tomography. By using a reference object that can be disassembled and calibrated by a traceable measuring system, Ibon has devised a novel procedure for porosity inspection, including volumetric information such as shape, size, distribution, and volume, along with the corresponding task-specific uncertainty estimation.
Pablo Antunes da Rosa ( Grupo Boticário , Brazil). Pablo Antunes da Rosa's presentation will showcase the metrological evaluation of 3D printed Poly(Lactic Acid) fixtures by Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). By using additive manufacturing to reduce the costs and time of designing and manufacturing fixtures, his project has allowed for geometric optimization and improved measurement system capability. The results showed that the three evaluated fixtures exhibited good long-term stability when compared with the tolerance of the measurand.
