Next stop: Hong Kong
The AVPN Global Conference starts today in Hong Kong, and DataDotOrg colleagues Lindsey Gottschalk and Priyank Hirani are there to meet with partners who share our commitment to data and AI for social impact.
Among them is the Association of Pacific Rim Universities ( APRU ), with whom we launched our APAC Capacity Accelerator Network (CAN) hub and, more recently, the collaborative Social Impact Data Science Accelerator (SIDSA) program. SIDSA pairs social impact organizations with academic teams for six-month sprints to develop data solutions that drive meaningful progress in areas like inclusive growth—the theme of this year’s AVPN event.
From food security to financial inclusion to economic empowerment, the projects coming out of SIDSA are a reminder of why we’re in Hong Kong today, Malaysia in October, India in February, and at global convenings all year round.
Incredible work is happening around the world to apply data and AI to pressing problems. And wherever those examples exist, data.org will continue to find, support, and scale them.
