SIGers on the move: Meet Geiza Gabriela De Matos Leão

SIG journey: From Brazil to Mexico 

Geiza Gabriela de Matos Leão joined SIG in 2013 as an 18-year-old apprentice in the administrative area of Production in Campo Largo, Brazil. What began as an entry-level role soon sparked a strong interest in the company’s production processes, motivating her to pursue a degree in Production Engineering and build a career at SIG. 

Over the years, she advanced through several roles, from Trainee to Production Information Analyst, then to Materials and Production Planning Analyst. In late 2022, she embraced a new challenge by relocating to Mexico as Production Planning and S&OP Coordinator at SIG’s plant in Querétaro. 

The years 2020 and 2021 marked a deeply challenging period for Geiza, as she lost both her grandmother and father. This experience gave her a renewed perspective on life and inspired her to seek new experiences abroad, explore new cultures, and take on greater challenges. With the encouragement of her managers and colleagues, she applied for a role in Mexico, and in November 2022, she successfully transitioned to her new position.
