Our latest Combined Annual Report is now available, bringing together our financial and non-financial performance for 2024.

It offers a clear view of how we’re transforming our business into an integrated, sustainable chemicals, fuels and energy company. Key highlights include the EUR 36.1 mn investments in social projects, and the start of drilling on Vienna’s first deep geothermal plant. The report also outlines how we’re continuing to create value for shareholders, with a proposed dividend of EUR 4.75 per share.

Explore our report to find out how we’re moving forward for good.

A circular economy starts with waste collection and sorting

Article content

To give end-of-life plastic a second life, recycling is essential—and it all begins with the collection and sorting of waste. Today, far too many valuable materials are still being incinerated or sent to landfill simply because they are not properly sorted.

We spoke to experts from TOMRA and Reclay to find out why separate collection and pre-sorting are critical first steps for effective recycling, and the missed opportunities of the household residual bin.

At OMV, we’re proud to be part of the solution—from our ReOil® technology, which chemically recycles end-of-life plastic  into circular feedstock, to our  joint venture with Interzero to build one of Europe’s largest sorting facilities for chemical recycling. Read more about why collecting and sorting waste is so important in our story.

And you can learn more about how ReOil works—and what makes it different—in our latest video.

Karina Schneider from OMV and Stephan Roest from Borealis explain how ReOil produces high-quality circular feedstock suitable for demanding applications and enables full traceability from waste to end product.

WU Business Case Challenge: Exploring sustainable solutions with the next generation

We’re proud to be a partner of the WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) Business Case Challenge 2025—a platform that invites students to develop smart solutions to real-world issues.

Last week’s Business Case Day was the first big highlight, featuring keynotes, workshops, and case presentations. It gave students the opportunity to prepare for the OMV “Sustainable Start-Up” Challenge, where they’ll team up with us to develop ideas that support our transformation.

We believe that bringing different perspectives together leads to better solutions—and we’re excited to see what the next generation will bring to the table.

Ask Us Anything: Open conversations, shared values

OMV CEO Alfred Stern

At OMV, we believe people make it happen — and that includes creating space for open, honest dialogue.

That’s what our North Star sessions are all about. In these regular “Ask Us Anything” events, our Executive Board meets with employees to answer questions, exchange ideas, and reinforce core values that drive us —trust, transparency, and openness.

Last week’s session was another great example of how staying connected helps us grow stronger together. Take a look at some photos from the event.

Welcoming BASF CEO Markus Kamieth to our Schwechat refinery

In times of transformation, open exchange and collaboration across industries are more important than ever. That’s why it was a pleasure to welcome Markus Kamieth , CEO of BASF , to our Schwechat refinery near Vienna.

During the visit, our CEO Alfred Stern introduced Mr. Kamieth to our new ReOil plant and discussed strategies to make the chemicals industry more sustainable. The conversation reflected a shared belief in the potential of chemistry to help address some of the world’s biggest challenges.

See photos from the visit.
