TEDx KAUST an experience of a lifetime
Yesterday I was working at one of the Learning spaces in the Entrepreneurship Center, reading some students papers and honestly I was feeling proud and happy as I was going through them. My mind drifted in how much these experiences and the skillsets they are gaining through practical courses that simulates real life and what if this was something that many others can benefit from. while I am daydreaming an email popped up and it was just the perfect email at a very interesting time, it was one of my previous students who wanted to share a story and also mentioned that she never forgot something I said in a lecture "the job of an entrepreneur goes far beyond selling a product and making money, but also should serve and make people's life better" and how that inspired her to develop her product moving forward and got her to decide on few things in life, she also added that hearing a story of a 12 year old child has triggered many things in her mind to simply know what she was supposed to do. I crashed into tears...
I honestly believe that she was just ready to hear that one thing that made her see the possibilities of what Humans can do once they decide to activate and execute. I am inspired by her story and I wish I can share it soon. We all have stories in life that shapes who we are and whom do we become. But what really makes all the difference is how do we channel our experiences towards a positive impact and make the past with all its happiness and pain our engine to create and innovate and also keep seeking new experiences to fuel for the future. And never forget to keep bringing the child within you! After all, most innovative ideas were originated from crazy and unrealistic bases and were born outside board and meeting rooms.
Few months ago, a team of amazing students approached me to give a TEDx talk and I thought I can do that as I teach all the time. But guess what, standing on that red dot was not easy and staring at that BIG auditorium was heart aching. Finding the right topic was not easy but I guess I wanted to challenge myself so I went with the below story that I am sharing with you...
