Summary: After achieving my undergraduate degree from Salisbury University in 2000, I enrolled in the Schuler School of Fine Arts. I quickly accumulated awards, participated in elite competitions and exhibitions, was featured in magazines and books, and landed my artwork in exclusive collections. As an instructor, I bring enthusiasm and compassion to students hungry to learn fine art skills and theories. My expert understanding of old master techniques, history, and theories is supported with demonstration and experimentation. Contemporary artists, technology, and innovative techniques are celebrated and introduced into the studio. Students are encouraged to build their skills experientially through individual projects. Learners have unique personalities, skills, and goals that are supported by custom crafting the instruction to foster growth. Fun in a family like setting is an important component of my courses. Students do not go into the atelier to drudge through projects to graduate, rather look forward to their time creating. It has been a great privilege to watch students improve over years of hard work to become successful artists, illustrators, animators, and more. In 2023, I earned a Master's degree, M.Ed in Adult Learning and Training. I learned important instructional theories, developed online courses, and increased my knowledge and ability to educate adult learners. As an artist, instructor, course designer, and administrator, I bring warmth, humor, and humility to the traditional fine arts. Outside of fine arts, I enjoy cooking, being outdoors, and going wild with my kids. Self-improvement is vitally important to me. I am an avid reader, meditator, and health nut.
