The latest Drinks Ireland - Ibec Beer Market Report paints a picture of a dynamic and evolving industry, particularly when it comes to non-alc - and we’re glad to be shaping part of that movement. Some of the notable takeaways of today's report are; 📈 Non-alcoholic beer sales grew by 25% last year, with production rising by 77% - a clear signal of growing demand for more mindful choices. 📊 Non-alcoholic beer now accounts for over 2.5% of the total beer market - a 150% increase in market share over five years. 📉 Per capita alcohol consumption in Ireland has declined by nearly 3% in the past year and is now down 34% over the past two decades, which highlights a significant and ongoing shift in consumer behaviour. At Diageo Ireland, we’re committed to innovation, consumer choice, and premium quality - shaping the future of beer for every kind of occasion. This transformation is especially evident in Ireland’s rural pubs, where Guinness 0.0 and our growing non-alcoholic portfolio is enabling more inclusive social experiences, all without compromising on taste. As consumer preferences continue to evolve, we remain focused on delivering exceptional quality and choice, ensuring there’s an option for every occasion. The excellence of Ireland’s Holstein Friesian dairy herds was masterfully on display this week as breeders from across the country attended the Virginia Agricultural Show in Co. Cavan, where the Diageo Baileys Champion Dairy Cow Competition took place. Live since 1983 and fondly known as ‘the Baileys’, every year this competition showcases the quality behind Baileys signature ingredient, Irish dairy cream - and underpins the commitment, care and investment that Irish dairy farmers put into their herds throughout the year. This year was no different with head judge Giuseppe Beltramino awarding breeders from Wexford (Philip and Linda Jones) and Armagh (Joel and Clive Richardson) the 2025 top prize, with their jointly owned 6-year-old Holstein Friesian cow, Annaghmore Fitz Atlee. As sponsors of the competition and alongside our cream supplier Tirlán, we were glad to welcome Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Martin Heydon T.D to present the Baileys Champion Cow Trophy - highlighting the importance of the competition, and the vital role Irish farming families play in sustaining our rural communities and Ireland's world-renowned dairy sector. 🎥 Snapshot below of the 2025 Baileys Champion Dairy Cow Competition - thank you to all the excellent entrants this year, and congratulations to the worthy winners!
