Your greatest climate asset is your talent. While over 80% of employees are willing to act on climate, their energy often goes untapped without the proper structure—costing companies valuable innovation and leadership development. Building on insights from the renowned EDF Climate Corps program, the Environmental Defense Fund’s Net Zero Action Accelerator activates this talent by developing leaders through a new framework of cross-functional cohorts designed to: ✅ Foster innovation and a culture of shared ownership and climate action. ✅ Retain and upskill talent for career growth and internal visibility. ✅ Deliver business-aligned climate solutions that strengthen resilience. We are seeking medium- to large-sized North American companies with climate commitments to co-design and pilot this model. We will provide mentorship and tools at no cost to help your teams move from idea to action. Let's connect to see if your organization is a fit. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed to eliminate GHG emissions reporting for nearly all industrial sectors, while delaying reporting for oil and gas facilities under Subpart W of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP). This move would undercut the nation's most comprehensive source of emissions data, eroding investor confidence and putting U.S. companies at a global disadvantage. Maintaining the GHGRP is a cornerstone of transparency, regulatory certainty and competitiveness. High-quality data is critical for companies to: 🔹 Benchmark performance 🔹 Demonstrate transparency to stakeholders 🔹 Align with tightening international disclosure standards Provide your perspective and signal your support for the GHGRP by submitting public comments to the EPA by November 3. ➡️ Submit comments here: https://lnkd.in/eJgehNji For more context on this critical issue, read our latest Climate Policy newsletter. ➡️ Read the newsletter: https://lnkd.in/euCr2RmX

Failing to manage methane emissions exposes companies and their investors to serious risk. ⚠️ When ADNOC walked away from its bid to acquire Santos last month, poor methane management was a deciding factor. The result? A $2B hit to Santos’ market value almost overnight. For investors, the takeaway is clear: companies will be scrutinized on the robustness of their efforts to manage methane. What investors should be asking oil & gas companies: ➡️ Have you joined OGMP 2.0? ➡️ Have you set a “near-zero” methane emissions intensity target? ➡️ Do you report emissions transparently, including from NOJVs? The story told in “Sea Change” is a powerful example of what can be achieved when partnerships unite to protect both an industry and the communities at its core. 🌊 The new book, co-authored by Environmental Defense Fund’s Executive Director Amanda Leland, details how fishermen, scientists, regulators and environmentalists came together to build a more sustainable, climate-smart seafood industry in the U.S. It’s great to see real-life proof points of stakeholder collaboration adopting solutions that benefit people, the planet, and businesses. 📚 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gaTmPe6j

This week, I had the chance to join Hermann Services, Inc. EV launch event in New Jersey. Hermann is currently operating 1 Peterbilt Motors Company 579EV, the first deployment of this model in the country, with 3 more trucks coming soon and 12 additional EVs planned by July 2026, positioning them to run the largest EV fleet in New Jersey. The EVs will be running 200-mile routes throughout the state on single charges. This progress is the result of collaboration across the ecosystem: - NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) funding to de-risk early adoption. - PSEG utility partnership to ensure grid readiness. - ChargePoint DC fast charging, powered by 100% renewable energy (via RECs). And most critically, L'Oréal stepping up as a shipper partner, showing that when customers put skin in the game by asking for zero-emission transport, fleets can move faster. Heavy-duty trucks are just 7% of vehicles, but they account for 25% of transportation emissions and an even greater share of harmful air pollution - much of which is released by trucks coming to and from warehouses. Clean air advocates are now working to pass an Indirect Source Review bill to reduce truck pollution at warehouses and ports to protect with health of residents across the state - 1 in 3 of whom now live within half a mile of a warehouse, according to a report released by EDF and the Coalition for Healthy Ports. These #electrictrucks will go a long way in improving air quality and reducing health burdens in historically redlined communities. - see link for bill: https://lnkd.in/egQKZrNM - see link for report: https://lnkd.in/ekFRfvxC If we want to accelerate decarbonization, it’s not enough to wait for fleets to go electric — shippers, utilities, and policymakers all need to lean in together. Hermann’s example shows what’s possible when they do. Kudos to Hermann and their partners for leading by example and building momentum toward a cleaner freight system. This story demonstrates how leading companies are harnessing the latest technologies to drive solutions for businesses and communities. This is a win-win-win. Special thanks to Adrian Hurgoi at Hermann for the invite.

New Task Force for Corporate Action Transparency (TCAT) has released frameworks to fill a key reporting gap, providing companies with standardized tools to account for their climate actions and demonstrate credible results. “This approach can both hold companies to the highest standards of transparency and rigor, while creating space for innovation,” says EDF’s Angela Churie Kallhauge. We're excited to see how pilot companies use these new frameworks to report on their emissions reduction efforts in real-time. The Wall Street Journal’s Yusuf Khan reports on the frameworks: https://lnkd.in/d5Y9eMK5 #ClimateAction #Transparency #CorporateResponsibility

Thousands of attendees will soon travel to Belém for #COP30. ✈️ The Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) has launched a new initiative to help reduce flight emissions. Through the new COP30 SAF platform, conference travelers can calculate and address their aviation-related emissions by purchasing high-integrity sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) sourced from SkyNRG. “SABA has done the hard work of vetting the best-in-class SAF so buyers can feel confident their purchase will deliver a meaningful climate impact, while sending a clear message to policy makers and the market that high integrity SAF is in demand,” says EDF’s Elizabeth Sturcken. 🧳 Traveling to COP?
