AI is no longer a future concept for nonprofits but a present-day imperative. At the National Zakat Foundation, an AI-powered triage assistant built with Microsoft Copilot Studio reduced wait times by 80% and helped staff focus on human connection. Meanwhile at Malteser International, Microsoft 365 Copilot is helping reclaim time once lost to admin, so teams can be more present in crisis zones and with the people they serve. In our latest article, James Hutchinson, GM Sales EMEA at Microsoft Elevate, explores how nonprofits are moving from pilot projects to systemic transformation—guided by bold leadership, ethical frameworks, and a commitment to putting people, not algorithms, at the center of innovation. Read more on how AI is helping nonprofits reimagine how they serve, scale, and sustain impact 👇

On the inaugural Social Impact Stage at SXSW Sydney, our Microsoft Elevate team joined forces with Charitabl. | The Easy Way To Give to spotlight how AI can be a force for good when designed with empathy, accessibility and our community at its core. It was a privilege to convene such a diverse group of industry leaders, AI innovators, policy advocates, teachers, Indigenous leaders and researchers. Together, we explored “The Art of the Possible – Reimagining Education through AI, Culture and Care” and “AI for Good: From Vision to Impact.” The collective wisdom and lived experiences shared by our experts reminded us that when we approach AI with empathy and a human-centered mindset, we can unlock new opportunities and empower communities everywhere. We are grateful for the stories and leadership driving our industry and causing us to pause and reflect on the importance of putting people first in the era of AI : Dr Anna Denejkina, Leigh Williams, Peta-Anne Toohey, Andrew Rowley, Caitilin Studdert, John Galligan, Mike Gore and Jocelyn Goto, Anita S. and Dan Bowen 🎸 We’re proud to stand alongside changemakers designing a future where AI empowers every learner, carer, and community. In a world where humanitarian, development, and conservation efforts are facing more pressure than ever, the NetHope Global Summit was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we come together with a shared purpose. Every week, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) receives over 800,000 donated items—each one a potential lifeline for someone in need. But managing this scale of generosity is no small feat. To meet the challenge, BHF turned to Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, and Dynamics 365, embarking on a digital transformation that’s reshaping how they operate. With AI-powered pricing and smarter inventory management, their 20,000 volunteers are no longer bogged down by manual tasks. Instead, they’re empowered to focus on what truly matters: supporting communities and saving lives. The results speak volumes. Revenue has surged by over £1 million, and Gift Aid recovery has improved, meaning even more funds go directly toward life-saving research and care.
