New research from WeiJun Shen and Muyu Xu et al., from 深圳湾实验室 Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, "Cell-based high-throughput screening using a target–NanoLuc fusion construct to identify molecular glue degraders of c-Myc oncoprotein" Despite being implicated in 70% of cancers, c-Myc has long been considered an “undruggable” target. This study introduces a cell-based high-throughput screening system that identified a molecular glue-like degrader (C1) capable of selectively degrading Myc, blocking its interactions, and reducing Myc-driven gene expression. 👉 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e2EFAXbJ #DrugDiscovery #CancerResearch #ProteinDegradation #Oncology

There is still time to nominate an outstanding early career researcher to be considered as an Emerging Investigator in RSC Chemical Biology! Emerging Investigators must be independent researchers (PIs or team leaders) in the first ten years of their independent research career. Allowances will be made for career breaks and personal circumstances, and those in appropriate roles in industry will be considered. Please provide your nomination(s) by email to the journal at chembio-rsc@rsc.org by 7 November. Find out more about the Emerging Investigators collections in our Editorial at https://lnkd.in/eKsJySTK #RSCChembio #ChemicalBiology #EmergingInvestigators #IntependentResearcher

This week I attended my first ELRIG Drug Discovery conference in Liverpool, representing RSC Medicinal Chemistry💊 This was a fantastic event filled with some really inspiring talks and great discussions about our journal. Highlights included Dafydd Owen's talk on the journey to the oral SARS-CoV-2 Mpro inhibitor for the treatment of COVID-19, and the #RSCMedChem and RSC BMCS track with talks from Professor Rebecca Goss FRSC, FRSE and our Editorial Board members Lyn Jones and Sankar K. Guchhait, FRSC - thank you to the co-chairs Ganesan and Martin Swarbrick for an excellent programme! To top it all off, Liverpool even (briefly) brought the sun out for us☀️ #ELRIGDD25 Chemical Biology #RSCChemBio#RSCChemBio
