Geothermal is having its moment—and the Geothermal Rising Conference 2025 was the place where it happened. US-based startups raised a total of $319 million in Q2 2025. That represents 14% of all money invested in next generation geothermal since 2019, according to Wood Mackenzie. From traditional hydrothermal systems to next generation systems, to super-hot rock drilling, the innovation is real, and the opportunity is massive. At GRC 2025, project developers, financiers, independent power producers, hyperscalers, and other offtakers, came together to answer the call to action to meet growing energy demand by launching new projects, investing in technology innovation, forming new partnerships, and - most importantly - sharing the knowledge and experiences they’ve gained for the collective benefit of the industry.
