Since we are in the GIT world, I would like to mention a very important GIT repository, created by Professor Diomidis Spinellis, representing the history of UNIX! Diomidis, like a patient archaeologist, collected all Unix related repositories from various versions and flavors of Unix (starting from the Unix Version 1 !), and created a single Git repository. The repo has branches representing the unix versions and "synthesized commits" representing editing efforts of legendary Unix names, such as Ken Thompson or Dennis Ritchie, or Rob Pike. Here is the first ever commit: commit 64d7600ea5210a9125bd1a06e5d184ef7547d23d Author: Ken Thompson <ken@research.uucp> Date: Tue Jun 20 05:00:00 1972 -0500 Research V1 development Work on file u5.s Co-Authored-By: Dennis Ritchie <dmr@research.uucp> Synthesized-from: v1/sys You can visit this repository of the Unix History at: https://lnkd.in/dThG26QF Great work prof. Spinnelis!
About us
TRACY project aims to gain a deeper understanding of the operational procedures involved in resolving crimes, particularly focusing on data-driven evidence processing. This includes investigating the methods, tools, and type of evidence data utilized. With this objective in mind, TRACY develops cutting-edge data analytics and artificial intelligence solutions to address the challenges of crime resolution while adhering to the regulations set by the European Union and its Member States regarding the collection of evidence data. To achieve this, TRACY employs advanced forms of network analytics that enable the collaborative processing of sensor data and assumptions about the individuals involved. For instance, analyze data from cameras, number plate recognition systems, face detection systems, non-content data from communications, and other relevant sources. By leveraging this information, TRACY approximate behavioral patterns of the perpetrators can be deduced, aiding in the identification of suspects.

Highlights from the final event of the Tracy EU Project are now available. Held at the The Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens on May 20, 2025, the event brought together partners and stakeholders from across Europe to share insights, project results, and future perspectives. The Tracy Project, co-funded by the EU under Horizon Europe, aims to enhance crime resolution through advanced data analytics and AI, focusing on the lawful and ethical processing of evidence data. The project addresses the complexity of modern investigations by developing tools for analyzing sensor data, communications metadata, and behavioral patterns—always within the boundaries of EU regulations and fundamental rights.
