This program blends DBT skills training with Christian faith and Biblical reflections, structured into 4 main modules:
- Mindfulness
- Distress Tolerance
- Emotion Regulation
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
Each session is 60–75 minutes and follows this structure:
- Opening Prayer & Scripture
- Skill Teaching with Real-Life Application
- Biblical Integration
- Group Reflection & Weekly Practice Assignment
The First Few weeks will focus on:
- Introduction to the Group & What is DBT?
Objective: Set group expectations, build safety, explain the psychoeducational model.
Outcome: Participants understand group purpose, structure, and their role as learners, not clients.
- Mindfulness: What & Why from a Christian Perspective
Objective: Define mindfulness and align it with Biblical meditation.
Outcome: Participants recognize mindfulness as an intentional focus on God and present experiences.
- Wise Mind & Biblical Discernment
Objective: Introduce Emotional Mind, Rational Mind, and Wise Mind.
Outcome: Participants learn how to pause and seek wisdom in decision-making.
- Observe & Describe Without Judgment
Objective: Teach “What” skills of mindfulness.
Outcome: Participants practice noticing thoughts/emotions without labeling or judging.
- Participate: Entering Fully into the Moment with God
Objective: Teach the “Participate” skill through spiritual and daily activities.
Outcome: Women engage with life more fully, bringing God into ordinary moments.
- The “How” Skills: Non-Judgmental, One-Mindful, Effectiveness
Objective: Explore attitudes of mindful living through Scripture.
Outcome: Participants learn how to act with purpose and grace.
- Christian Reflection on Identity & Awareness
Objective: Reflect on how mindfulness reveals God’s truth about self-worth.
Outcome: Participants challenge lies and stand in their God-given identity.
