Brendan G. Carr, MD, MA, MS, is the Chief Executive Officer, a Professor, and Kenneth L. Davis, MD, Distinguished Chair at Mount Sinai Health System. Dr. Carr is a renowned physician-scientist in health policy and emergency care systems. He oversees Mount Sinai’s strategic, operational, and business-building areas, which includes eight hospitals and the Icahn School of Medicine and more than 400 ambulatory locations and physician practices. In his 20-year career in emergency medicine, he has focused on: building regional systems of emergency care, served in an advisory role to domestic and international organizations, and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. Previously, he served on the faculties of the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University, and held advisory roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Carr has authored over 175 manuscripts, with research funded by major health organizations.
