The UK charts should implement a rule like Billboards where songs below a certain position after a certain number of weeks exit.

I honestly think sabrina and raye should be higher on the charts. And lady gaga with dead dance, literally all my friends have learnt the dance and listen to it non stop:)

I haven’t made my charts for a while because of severe demotivation + job searching so these are some songs I’ve been listening to a lot lately

• RAYE - WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!

• Taylor Swift - The Fate of Ophelia

• Madison Beer - yes baby/bittersweet

• cassö ft SACHA - Guestlist

• Freemasons ft Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) (thank you Drag Race UK haha)

• The Cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK - She Ate That (F@llen Ang3lz Version)

• Damiano David, Tyla & Nile Rodgers - Talk To Me

• Zara Larsson - Hot & S*xy

• INJI - IN A MOOD

Intrigued to see the impacts of Dave next week, but looking at Apple Music (he’s doing very well there) we’re also going to get decent impact from Skye Newman & even Lily Allen!

So so happy to see bittersweet debut! It’s very much we can’t be friends/twilight zone esque but my god it’s just amazing. I also love yes baby so I’m very excited for her new album in January! However I’m sad 15 MINUTES was left off the album as that’s my favourite of her recent singles (All At Once from the F1 movie soundtrack is very close though)

1

Little fun fact, Olivia Dean is actually the first female artist in history to simultaneously chart 4 songs in the top 10 & I believe the first artist in general since the 3 song rule was introduced!

This year we NEED the most absolutely crazy Christmas political Diss track. I'm talking don't hold back, go for the No.1. We need to make a change 🫡 (Also it's a lot more fun than having Mariah or Wham! At no.1 AGAIN.)

As of recently there's been quite a few songs ive liked thar are in the charts atm, here are the ones ive liked:

The Dead Dance - Lady Gaga

Folded - Kehlani

Dracula - Tame Impala

So Easy To Fall In Love - Olivia Dean

Ocean - Calvin Harris/Jessie Reyez

Today I have also liked the new Foo Fighters song Asking For A Friend which i think is amazing. Also yet to hear Sam Fender's new song may listen to that

I love 'Folded', 'Dracula' and 'So Easy (To Fall In Love)' while 'The Dead Dance' is growing on me slightly. Not a fan of 'Ocean' though.

let me just…

  • where is my husband is a TUNE. nuff said.
  • i’m so happy to see what it sounds like finally debut. i do like your idol but it had a good run already and it’s made way for a highlight. i’m considering going to the cinema by myself after work on halloween to catch the kpdh sing-along
  • speaking of halloween-themed things i love to see dracula borderline top 20. not a fan of the new tame impala album (unfortunate bc i love his stuff usually) but dracula was good and itll be high on a lot of halloween playlists this year!
  • glad to see we’re making folded a thing too - i really like kehlani.
  • while i’m a huge gorillaz fan and i do love feel good inc having a return following the new album announcement, i wish we made the happy dictator a hit instead of just jumping back to an older song; it deserved it and would get the album hype up.
  • im happy to see joji back too! pixelated kisses isn’t my favourite of his but i still like it, even if its cut a little too short. i’ve been revisiting nectar following his return - some great music on there!
  • i’m gutted the last dinner party didn’t get the number 1 album. i also expected a higher debut for of monsters and men there too.

broke the space-time continuum and had a song debut in the Spotify Top 200 for the 23rd despite releasing on the 24th

How did it manage to do that? Was it like partial streams from somewhere with a later time zone?

It's because Spotify apparently don't understand daylight savings time lol, so it had an hour's worth of streams from midnight to 1am that count towards the 23rd for Spotify

For as much as I have mixed thoughts on Taylor’s album, ‘Opalite’ is just getting better with every listen. Hopefully it's pushed as a future single.

Nice to see ‘Talk To You’ off to a decent start. ‘People Watching’ getting an ACR reset is even better. Congratulations to Sam on winning the Mercury Prize!

At this rate, it’s looking like Sienna Spiro could be the next breakout artist. I wouldn’t complain if she is.

3

That’s not a bad ACR drop for ’12 To 12’ at all. It probably would’ve climbed this week if it didn’t get hit.

‘Pink Pony Club’ should’ve left the Top 40 before ‘The Subway’ imo. Even if I like the former, it’s been there for long enough now.

Disappointed that ‘Stateside’ doesn't look like it'll make the region. Probably one of the best songs on the mixtape. :(

avatar

Piran

5

I’m loving that big jump for ‘Dracula’. I know it’s mainly due to the album boost but it seems like it’s going to be the main Halloween anthem of the year even outside of that.

Also very pleased that Tame Impala have their second Top 40 single in less than a month! Cool to see them getting more success, even if it seems like a lot of people were underwhelmed by ‘Deadbeat’.
