One century later, Jacques Lacornée, a student of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and of Charles Bonnard, himself architect of the Foreign Office, erected the current Quai d'Orsay, with regard for the traditional structure of aristocratic urban mansions : a town-house for the Ministry and the royal and diplomatic receptions, and its outbuildings, the offices, services and archives, which were completed by 1856.
