Re “‘A huge improvement for travelers’: San Diegans check out Terminal 1 open house” (Sept. 14): If Sunday’s open house showcasing the new Terminal 1 is any indication of how the facility will be managed, we are in serious trouble. There were no signs directing guests where to park, which resulted in a traffic jam at the old Terminal 1. I felt sorry for travelers who were trying to depart or arrive during that time.

We spent more than 25 minutes circling before finally locating the correct parking garage — only to be told the event had ended early. As we entered, we were handed a 10-minute ticket and instructed to make a U-turn to exit. That’s when we discovered the new garage forces four lanes of traffic to merge into just one lane.

Let’s hope this fiasco is not a preview of what travelers can expect in the future.
