Initial Preparations
Charging the Battery
Remove the cover and insert the
battery.
After aligning the o marks on the battery and
charger, insert the battery by pushing it in
( ) and down ( ).

Charge the battery.

Once you connect the power cord to the
charger and plug the cord into a power outlet,
the lamp will light up orange.
When charging is finished, the lamp turns
green. Remove the battery.
For details on charging time and the number
of shots or recording time available with a
fully charged battery, refer to Specifications
in the Camera User Guide.

Inserting the Battery and Memory Card

Open the cover.
Slide the cover (

) and open it (

).

Insert the battery.

While pressing the battery lock in the direction
of the arrow, insert the battery as shown and
push it in until it clicks into the locked position.
To remove the battery, press the battery lock
in the direction of the arrow.

Initial Preparations

Check the cards write-protect tab

and insert the memory card.
Recording is not possible on memory cards

Terminals

with a write-protect tab when the tab is in the

locked (downward) position. Slide the tab up
until it clicks into the unlocked position.
Insert the memory card facing as shown until
it clicks into the locked position.
To remove the memory card, push it in until
you feel a click, and then slowly release it.

Close the cover.

Lower the cover (

) and hold it down as you

slide it, until it clicks into the closed position
( ).

Setting the Date and Time

Turn the camera on.
Press the ON/OFF button.
The Date/Time screen is displayed.

Set the date and time.

Press the qr buttons to choose an option.
Press the op buttons to specify the date
and time.

When finished, press the m button.

Initial Preparations

Set the local time zone.

Press the qr buttons to choose your local
time zone.

Press the m button when finished. After a

confirmation message, the setting screen is
no longer displayed.
To turn off the camera, press the ON/OFF
button.

Changing the Date and Time

To adjust the date and time once you have set it, do the following.
Press the n button.
Move the zoom lever to choose the 3 tab.
Press the op buttons to choose [Date/Time], and then press the m
button.
Follow step 2 again to complete the setting.
Press the n button.

Trying the Camera Out

Display Language
Enter Playback mode.
Press the 1 button.

Access the setting screen and

choose a language.
Press and hold the m button, and then
immediately press the n button.

Press the opqr buttons to choose a

language, and then press the m button.

Trying the Camera Out

Shooting
Turn the camera on and enter A
mode.
Press the ON/OFF button.
Set the mode switch to A.

Compose the shot.

To zoom in and enlarge the subject, move the
zoom lever toward i (telephoto) as you
watch the screen, and to zoom away from the
subject, move it toward j (wide angle).

Trying the Camera Out

Shoot still images.

Press the shutter button lightly ( ).
The camera beeps twice after focusing, and
AF frames are displayed to indicate image
areas in focus. Press the shutter button all
the way down ( ).

Shoot movies.
Press the movie button to start shooting, and
press it again to stop.

Viewing
Enter Playback mode.
Press the 1 button.

Browse through your images.

To view the previous or next image, press the
qr buttons.

Movies are identified by a

icon. To play

movies, go to step 3.

Play movies.
Press the m button, press the op buttons

to choose
, and then press the m button
again.
To adjust the volume, press the op buttons.
Playback now begins, and after the movie is
finished,
is displayed.

Viewing the Manuals

Erasing the Images

To erase the image you chose in step 2, do the following. Note that erased
images cannot be recovered.
Press the m button, press the op buttons to choose a, and then press
the m button again.
After [Erase?] is displayed, press the qr buttons to choose [Erase], and
then press the m button.

Viewing the Manuals

Refer to the manuals on the included DIGITAL CAMERA Manuals Disk for a
more in-depth understanding of the camera, or when using software on the
DIGITAL CAMERA Solution Disk. Adobe Reader is required to view the PDF
manuals. Microsoft Word/Word Viewer can be installed to view the Word
manuals (required only for manuals for the Middle East).

Insert the DIGITAL CAMERA Manuals Disk

in the computers CD-ROM drive.

Follow the instructions displayed to view the

manual.

Explains how to use all functions of this camera, lists product

specifications, and explains procedures for installing the

Prparations initiales
Charge de la batterie
Retirez le couvercle et insrez
la batterie.
Aprs avoir align les symboles o de la

batterie et du chargeur, insrez la batterie en

lenfonant ( ), puis en labaissant ( ).

Chargez la batterie.
Une fois que vous connectez le cordon

dalimentation au chargeur et branchez lautre

extrmit sur la prise secteur, le tmoin
sallume en orange.
Une fois la charge termine, le tmoin devient
vert. Retirez la batterie.
Pour en savoir plus sur la dure de charge et
le nombre de prises ou la dure
denregistrement en cas de charge complte
de la batterie, reportez-vous la section
Caractristiques du Guide dutilisation
de lappareil photo.

Insertion de la batterie et de la carte mmoire

Ouvrez le couvercle.
Faites glisser le couvercle (
ouvrez-le (

) et

).

Insrez la batterie.
Tout en appuyant sur le verrou de la batterie

dans le sens de la flche, insrez la batterie

comme illustr et enfoncez-la jusquau dclic
dans la position verrouille.
Pour retirer la batterie, appuyez sur le verrou
de la batterie dans le sens de la flche.

Prparations initiales

Vrifiez la position de la languette de

protection contre lcriture de la carte
mmoire et insrez cette dernire.
Lenregistrement nest pas possible sur les

cartes mmoire dont la languette de protection

contre lcriture est en position verrouille
(abaisse). Faites glisser la languette vers
le haut jusquau dclic dans la position
dverrouille.
Insrez la carte mmoire dans le sens illustr
jusquau dclic dans la position verrouille.
Pour retirer la carte mmoire, appuyez dessus
jusqu ce que sentiez un dclic,
puis relchez-la lentement.

Fermez le couvercle.
Abaissez le couvercle (

) et maintenez-le
enfonc pendant que vous le faites glisser
jusquau dclic dans la position ferme ( ).

Rglage de la date et de lheure

Mettez lappareil photo
sous tension.
Appuyez sur la touche ON/OFF.
Lcran Date/Heure saffiche.

Rglez la date et lheure.

Appuyez sur les touches qr pour choisir
une option.

Appuyez sur les touches op pour spcifier

la date et lheure.

Une fois que vous avez termin, appuyez sur

la touche m.

Dfinissez le fuseau horaire local.

Appuyez sur les touches qr pour choisir
le fuseau horaire local.

Appuyez sur la touche m une fois termin.

Aprs laffichage dun message de
confirmation, lcran de rglage disparat.
Pour mettre lappareil photo hors tension,
appuyez nouveau sur la touche ON/OFF.

Modification de la date et de lheure

Pour modifier la date et lheure une fois quelles ont t rgles,
procdez comme suit.
Appuyez sur la touche n.
Dplacez la commande de zoom pour choisir longlet 3.
Appuyez sur les touches op pour choisir [Date/Heure], puis appuyez
sur la touche m.
Excutez nouveau ltape 2 pour terminer le rglage.
Appuyez sur la touche n.

Langue daffichage
Activez le mode de lecture.
Appuyez sur la touche 1.

Accdez lcran de rglage et

choisissez une langue.
Appuyez sur la touche m et maintenez-la
enfonce, puis appuyez immdiatement sur
la touche n.
Appuyez sur les touches opqr pour
choisir une langue, puis appuyez sur la
touche m.

Test de lappareil photo

Prise de vue
Mettez lappareil photo sous
tension et passez en mode A.
Appuyez sur la touche ON/OFF.
Positionnez le slecteur de mode sur A.

Composez la vue.
Pour faire un zoom avant et agrandir le sujet,
dplacez la commande de zoom vers i
(tlobjectif) tandis que vous regardez
lcran et, pour faire un zoom arrire,
dplacez-la vers j (grand angle).

Appuyez lgrement sur le dclencheur (

quil est impossible de rcuprer les images effaces.
Appuyez sur la touche m, puis sur les touches op pour choisir a,
et nouveau sur la touche m.
Lorsque [Effacer?] saffiche, appuyez sur les touches qr pour choisir
[Effacer], puis appuyez sur la touche m.

Reportez-vous aux manuels disponibles sur le CD-ROM DIGITAL CAMERA
Manuals Disk fourni pour mieux comprendre le fonctionnement de lappareil
