Going by the reviews around the net I'm sure you'll cry after watching this one.
I just saw the IMDB page of this and it has a rating of 8.2 out of 10 from 697 users which is quite
nice. Most reviewers give excellent rating for this.
Just that I haven't seen this so I can't give you any personal insights about this one.
The first Hindi film on the epic romance novel by Sarat Chandra Chottopadhyay. Stars Dilip Kumar

Sharmila Tagore is my favorite actress and in this one she plays a double role by the screen name as
Roopa and Suzy. Directed by Shakti Samanta who gave Sharmila the big break in Hindi cinema with
Kashmir Ki Kali.
Further down the years the duo gave us many other popular movies such as Amar Prem, Anuraag,
Aradhana, and Amanush. Was Shakti obsessed with the "A" phenomena, I wonder?
One of the greatest romantic movie I have ever seen.
How could I not list this one?
A suspense thriller movie with gorgeous songs and a well-knit script. Particularly, the songs of the

Again a film which is regarded as one of the best albums ever. All the songs are sung by the
Mahendra Kapoor.
Though more tuned for the kids. But that's the not reason I included it. It felt so nice to watch this
one back in those years. The movie also had emotions and probably watching the first time can bring
tears at the climax.
The Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha starrer is love story you would remember for many days once you
watch it. Flashback style story telling makes it even more intriguing. I'm sure there is no such lovetriangle film other than this. But Anuradha Patel makes the most impact by her character of Maya.
Surprise climax. I said surprise don't ask what's the surprise!

became a fan of her beauty watching this one.
A comedy movie with a relevant social message in it. The Tamil actress Manorama's role will surely
give you a reason to laugh.

gave us the most famous villain of all time.
First major role of Salman Khan and bang he did it in style, of course, with active help from
Bhagyashree.
Marks the role of Vinod Khanna who plays a grey role in this one. The setting feels similar to Sholay,
or rather the setting of Sholay seems like MGMD. Watch the movie to see the similarities in the
story. However, Sholay had a mix of comedy, romance, action, thrill which is its USP.
The Shahrukh Khan hit movie Om Shanti Om was based on this movie's script.

there life. Yes, I say phenomena because they were. Now the clowns and circus are buried in today's
popular mall culture.
There are many movies which have the solo hero playing a double role. In this one, Sadhna does the
double act, however, not in true sense. One sister dies and another one surfaces.
One of the most powerful movie. Smita Patil featured in many parallel cinema movies in her career
and this one to me is the best. The movie features nearly all the stars who were part of the art
cinema based movies.
Featuring Smita Patil as Sonbai, Naseerudding Shah as the tyrant Subedar, Suresh Oberoi as Mukhi,
Deepti Naval as Mukhi's wife, and Om Puri as the gatekeeper of the Masala factory. Others include
Raj Babbar, Benjamin Gilani, Dina Pathak, Ratna Pathak, Supriya Pathak, and Mohan Gokhale.
Based on the white revolution and on the life and times of one of the greatest entrepreneurs India
has seen: Dr. Verghese Kurien. This is one such kind of a movie which was produced by 500,000
farmers who contributing at least Rs. 2 each.
Thoroughly the best suspense thriller movie that the classic era offers. A young Madhubala with
master actor Ashok Kumar and melodious songs make this a all time favorite and a must watch.
Another movie which was colorized on the lines of Mughal-E-Azam. Certainly it would be a treat to
watch it this weekend.
The original Hum Aapke Hai Kaun. Gunja Re!
Beautiful story of a woman (Neel Kamal) who is a princess in past-life and how it haunts her in the
new life. It is a heroine-centric movie, and boy, Waheeda Rehman outshines greats like Manoj Kumar
and Raaj Kumar.
A laugh-riot of a film. Excellent comic timing with never-to-forget roles of Kishore Kumar and
Mehmood.
Great work by Anil, Jackie, and masterstroke act by Nana Patekar.
Silent film at its best.

Makaan, Upkar and Shaheed.

Meena Kumar's last movie after which she died. The film took nearly 15 years to complete because it
got delayed for one reason or the other.
Aamir Khan's start of the long-long career in the industry.
Great songs. The sexy Zeenat Aman made the Indian audience admire her.
Probably the most successful movie on duplets.
Blockbuster of its time. But these days it's more like Roti, Kapda, Makaan aur Internet, and I mean
really.
Mandakini, Mandakini, and Mandakini.
A class act by Kamal and Sridevi. Last scene is perhaps the saddest ever in an Indian film. But this
only makes sense if you watch the movie as a whole or have watched it earlier.
If you haven't heard about this then get the DVD now. Monumental performance by Dharmendra.
Spellbinding.
Another cult character from the Indian cinema. Had rumors of this one also going to be remade.
Based on the philosophy "Love is forever".
Realizing the popular belief of Shirdi Sai Baba on-screen this film made a fortune. Also, great songs
for a pleasant morning.

nahi phenka karte) and songs (Aye Meri Zohra Jabeen).
Black and White classic thriller. So, who was she? She was Sadhna.
A remake of a popular Tamil film was the first movie in which Anil Kapoor played the lead role. The
narration of the movie is excellent and Anil scores for his portrayal of Prem Pratap Pathiyalewala.
A musical.
With a perfect combination of Amitabh, Pran, Ajit, and Jaya brought a new image of Amitabh. Made
Amitabh synonymous with action movies and this is the movie after which the media started calling
him the "The Angry Young Man".
