I just saw the IMDB page of this and it has a rating of 8.2 out of 10 from 697 users which is quite
nice. Most reviewers give excellent rating for this.
Just that I haven't seen this so I can't give you any personal insights about this one.
The first Hindi film on the epic romance novel by Sarat Chandra Chottopadhyay. Stars Dilip Kumar
as Devdas Mukherjee, Suchitra Sen as Paro, Vyjanthimala as Chandramukhi, and Motilal as Chunni
Babu. A gem of a performance by Dilip Kumar.
Sharmila Tagore is my favorite actress and in this one she plays a double role by the screen name as
Roopa and Suzy. Directed by Shakti Samanta who gave Sharmila the big break in Hindi cinema with
Kashmir Ki Kali.
Further down the years the duo gave us many other popular movies such as Amar Prem, Anuraag,
Aradhana, and Amanush. Was Shakti obsessed with the "A" phenomena, I wonder?
One of the greatest romantic movie I have ever seen.
How could I not list this one?

Nice plot in which Dev Anand plays a double role and both of them are in the army and one is

on doing his duty he is mistaken for the one who is dead which leads to many problems.
Again a film which is regarded as one of the best albums ever. All the songs are sung by the
Mahendra Kapoor.
Though more tuned for the kids. But that's the not reason I included it. It felt so nice to watch this
one back in those years. The movie also had emotions and probably watching the first time can bring
tears at the climax.
The Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha starrer is love story you would remember for many days once you
watch it. Flashback style story telling makes it even more intriguing. I'm sure there is no such lovetriangle film other than this. But Anuradha Patel makes the most impact by her character of Maya.

Based on a short story written by Ravindranath Tagore is an emotional drama. Depicts the life of a
migrated roadside chickpea seller. The seller gets attached to a little girl and enjoys her company.
How he lands himself in jail and the climax shows the girl getting married which reminds him of his
daughter who also might have grown-up or even married.
Sharmila's first Hindi movie and does look like a 'kali' portraying the role of a Kashmiri girl. I
became a fan of her beauty watching this one.
A comedy movie with a relevant social message in it. The Tamil actress Manorama's role will surely
give you a reason to laugh.
Another classic from Guru Duttt while Waheeda Rehman playing his love interest. Watch and find
