1. Click Download File and follow the remaining prompts to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Run to unzip the download package
into your hard drive.
3. The file explorer will open pointing to the directory containing the download
package. Please take note of the path.

Firmware upgrade through the Windows utility

Procedure
1. Download and execute Seagate ST500LM030_ST1000LM035 H7JYY_ZPE.exe.
2. Select Continue and take note of the unzip location.
3. Run Seagate ST500LM030_ST1000LM035 H7JYY - Windows.exe as administrator.
4. On the first screen you will select your language, and then select OK.
5. Select Next on the welcome screen.
6. The next screen is a warning screen, please read and select Next if you agree.
7. The next screen is the License Agreement screen. If you agree, click "I agree"
and then click Next.
8. You will then come to the screen that asks you to close and save all
applications and to back up your data. When you are ready to start the firmware
update, please check the "Begin firmware update procedure", and then click Proceed.
9. The system will reboot and load the firmware. Once the firmware update is
complete the system will boot up into Windows normally.
10. To confirm the firmware update was successful, open Device manager -> open Disk
Drives-> Select ST500LM030 or ST1000LM035 -> click Properties -> choose hardware ID
under Details and check the firmware version.

Firmware upgrade through the DOS utility

Procedure via Bootable USB


1. Download and execute Seagate ST500LM030_ST1000LM035 H7JYY_ZPE.exe.
2. Select Continue and take note of the unzip location.
3. Insert a USB thumbdrive into your system.
4. Run Seagate ST500LM030_ST1000LM035 H7JYY - USB.exe as administrator.
5. On the first screen you will select your language, and then select OK.
6. Select Next on the welcome screen.
7. The next screen is the License Agreement screen. If you agree, click "I agree"
and then click Next.
8. You will then come to the screen that asks you to select your USB from a drop
down list.
WARNINIG: This process will format your USB and erase all your data in the USB.
Please backup your data in your USB before doing so.
9. When you are ready to create the bootable USB, please select the "Create".
10. Select "Yes" to format your USB.
11. Select "Close" after the process is done and safely eject your USB.
12. Insert the USB into the target system.
13. Boot the system from the USB drive.
14. Firmware upgrade will proceed. When the firmware upgrade process completes, the
system.
15. To confirm the firmware update was successful, open Device manager -> open Disk
Drives-> Select ST500LM030 or ST1000LM035 -> click Properties -> choose hardware ID
under Details and check the firmware version.
